Yarp it does. Oh well, all done and painted. It is so nice to not have a tank under there

Oh yeah, time to change that avatar buddy.

After setting it into place I noticed that it doesn't sit all the way into the tub. Seems kind of iffy to have 23 gallons of fuel supported by 2 flanges but Genright says that's how it's supposed to be. 1384900877914.jpg1384900893701.jpg

They also forgot to put the pump gasket in the box but they will ship me one.

OoOoOoo shiny

I would assume if it was directly on the tub, you may damage the tank from the jarring off road.

I was actually thinking about finding some sort of rubber mat to put under it before I saw that it didn't touch. At least I can spray everything out from underneath it easily.

I got a bit of work done tonight. The cell is mounted1385000978456.jpg
I have this line wrench that is always floating around the garage that always seems to be useful. It definitely helped since I didn't have a 2nd pair of hands 1385001062083.jpg
I spaced the bolt holes so that the rear is in the tail light cavity and the front 2 come down into the wheel well. I also got the 1.5" hole drilled in the tub for the fuel lines and the pump harness. Hopefully I can connect the lines tomorrow at lunch and get her back on the road.

That cell looks kickass bro!

I found a 5.3 votec and 4l60e with 42,000 miles on my local CL for $250.00 each...gonna look at it on saturday. Wish me luck!

Cheers

Holy hell that's cheap. I'd definitely pick them up. Even if you go with a manual with your swap I'd bet you could sell the 4l60 and make a proffit. Is the V8 moving back up the list?

What year are they out of? I wish mine had that low miles...

Yup it's back on the list.
Don't tell anyone.
I'm still going to do the little sleeper....just not on my Jeep, but on my brother's jeep lol. Mine is going to be what I *should* have done last time. I text the you the details.

I'm not super opposed to the 4l60e.

Oh and they're out of an '06. Think that's ok?

Cheers

I'm sure it will be fine. Is that a Gen 3 or Gen 4 motor? Maybe Jim (The GiantPanda) will chime in. He is wrapping up a swap with an engine from an '08.

I'm guessing that it will be a drive by wire throttle body, which is fine if you want to use the GM pedal. You can always swap out to drive by cable.

Ewwwww!
I MOST CERTAINLY DON'T want drive by wire. F that S.
What years were the 5.3 vortec drive by cable? What year should I be looking for here? I can go by my local JY this weekend and see what they have laying around too...

Cheers

So '97-03?

P.S. hows your power and rpm's with those 4.10s and 35s? Trying to lock in a gearing choice now. I have an 8.8 with 4.88s and a truss available and a matching 4.88 HP30 gear set and spartan locker. I can pick that all up for under 1k from a local friend...

Cheers

Havent really gotten on the highway much with the 35s after rebuilding the front end. Its been in the garage since Power is fine, it isnt quite as peppy around town, but that is relative. It still gets up and goes on the highway fine. My tach doesn't work and I havent had the chance to use Torque but I would guess the RPMs are around 1800 @65. With 33s they were about 1950. If these tires weren't so sticky I could still spin them easily. 4.88s may be a bit steep @ 65, but I think that is what WhyJ runs and he is happy with it.

Oh yeah and that is 99-03
