heres the more... don't cut it up till you are 100% committed and then 100% ready to do it. true you can get some crazy flex linkin' it. you can also get good flex on the the right leaf setup and maybe fabin in some spherical bushings at the shackle ends of your leafs. we have that Yj in the lot here. I have been thinking about a new leaf spring mount for it. I have to talk to my buddy and see what he says. Im thinking something like custom mounts, mono or twin leafs on a spring over, no lift shackle. you get your box?

SWEET!!! SWEET!!!!!!!! glad you like them AND they fit... WarninG. if you dry them in the dryer, they will shrink a bit. I air dry mine or use LOW/fluff on them.

thanks again man.

got some done on the 5.3 taco today. posted a few pics in the taco thread...

my buddy ko'd some parts on his Cherokee yesterday at the orv park. dana 30=junk LOL crumped the roof a little, flattened a body panel or 2, hes all about taking and building the green YJ I have. he wants it bad. and he's pushing me for the shop jeep build to get started and done. geez!!!!

get any further on the 231 thing? I am chasing down [2] 231c's tomorrow. ones like $50, the other $100. I hoping something happens. the 241c is beef. in the TJ tunnel, I either have to clock it up to run a lower clearance skid, or notch the stock skid to get enough angle on the drive line. think im goin' to set up the core of the crossmember, then just wait and see about angles etc, once all the weight of the jeep is on the frame.

My girlfriend is so stoked on her shirt! Thanks again Jim. Im used to my shirts shrinking and getting short and round so i know the drill. I even go as far as stretching them lengthwise befire I hang dry them

My buddy was trying to get the 233 to me today (so he could get his cash) but I had a softball game tonight and im beat, didnt feel like running to the ATM. Ill get it tomorrow.

I saw your update, just didnt have time to comment yet. Making good progress buddy! You should totally build that YJ, I am biased for square headlights

so your thinking of linking and stretching i see... you will enjoy. just don't take it out too far or else it becomes a mess dealing with everything else. linking is so easy i did mine twice

What do you mean twice? Had to redo the rear or you did the front as well?

How did you end up setting it up? It is a trailer queen but I still want my GF to be able to drive it to work and have it handle well around town.

originally i had it set up with a really triangulated double triangulation because that is the way that will give you the most rigidity and strength side to side. more triangulation the stronger it is. but i soon found out with heavily triangulated lowers when i hit bumps on the highway that are not perfectly centered on both wheels the rear axle would steer right and left when i hit bumps which gave it a very uncomfortable feel over 55mph. so i tore it down and triangulated my uppers more and my lowers less. they are still triangulated a little but not much. it drives fantastic all the way up to my govenor which is at 94 mph now.

if you want i can try to dig up some pics and my 4 link calculator screen shots

Id really appreciate that man. It may not be something that happens really soon but the more research I do and parts I collect, the easier it will be. Do you mind enlightening me on how you figured your lift height with the XJ coils?

I just bought the coils and since they aren't honeycomb shaped you can just cut coils off them until the jeep sits flat. Piece of cake. Makes it even nicer because my fuel cell sits on my drivers side so i was able to level it out

Got any flex shots of the finished product? I saw the test pics on the lift in your build thread but wanted to see how your setup was working real world

i dont have any other flex shots other than whats in the thread. i am plagued by very short shocks, but without them i can tell you it flexes more than i could possibly use.

my main reason for doing the 4 link though was traction. the thing hooks up like a mother****er on the rocks now compared to the horrible hopping that i had before.
