How do you unload a 400 lb axle by yourself?

I didn't win the fuel cell. Oh well, not really ready for that anyway. The tranny is stuck in "limp mode" . I tried putting a few blue pills down the fill tube but it didn't help. I am taking it to a tranny shop tomorrow to see if they can track it down pretty quickly. I think it is a selenoid problem.

Wellllll, it isnt electrical. I now have to decide whether to go cheap/easy/reliable by getting a 4.3 with a 4l60. Or get a 5.3 like i always wanted. Hmmm. Hoping i can keep 1st and 2nd to survive the weekend.

Andrew, what's wrong with the trans that is making it not shift? I would honestly figure that out first. Even then, why swap engines if the trans just needs a rebuild or maybe even something simple fixed? I can see doing it if you blew up the 4.0 but I would just fix the transmission if it were me.

I'm sure you have your reasons to be looking for a v8 though

The clutches etc. are out on 3rd gear. I took it to a shop for a once over. It is 1700 bucks to rebuild that tranny and the trans shop agreed it wasn't worth putting money in.

Keep the engine and stick a 3 speed auto or a aw4 in.
Will tide you over till you want to go really hog wild and stick a 8.0 GM V8 in it

Sounds like it's going to live on jackstands for atleast a year, this stuff takes tons of time and dedication.
Or a lot of coin and a good builder
