How do you unload a 400 lb axle by yourself?

I didn't win the fuel cell. Oh well, not really ready for that anyway. The tranny is stuck in "limp mode" . I tried putting a few blue pills down the fill tube but it didn't help. I am taking it to a tranny shop tomorrow to see if they can track it down pretty quickly. I think it is a selenoid problem.

Wellllll, it isnt electrical. I now have to decide whether to go cheap/easy/reliable by getting a 4.3 with a 4l60. Or get a 5.3 like i always wanted. Hmmm. Hoping i can keep 1st and 2nd to survive the weekend.

Shopping for v8s tonight. lol We are taking our quadcab ranger just in case the tranny dies completely.

Andrew, what's wrong with the trans that is making it not shift? I would honestly figure that out first. Even then, why swap engines if the trans just needs a rebuild or maybe even something simple fixed? I can see doing it if you blew up the 4.0 but I would just fix the transmission if it were me.

I'm sure you have your reasons to be looking for a v8 though

The clutches etc. are out on 3rd gear. I took it to a shop for a once over. It is 1700 bucks to rebuild that tranny and the trans shop agreed it wasn't worth putting money in.

Your under dash wiring harness is worth it's weight in gold. They don't make them anymore.

Keep the engine and stick a 3 speed auto or a aw4 in.
Will tide you over till you want to go really hog wild and stick a 8.0 GM V8 in it

Sounds like it's going to live on jackstands for atleast a year, this stuff takes tons of time and dedication.
Or a lot of coin and a good builder

4.3 swap is all i need but i want a 5.3 lol. i have been looking at fuel injected 5,7s too.
