-cut the sheet metal marked with the blue arrows
-run the tube under the body marked with green arrows and flush
-have the tube run straight to the end of the bumper
-somehow run an LED brake and backup light

just an idea
Lout I just spent 30min on paint thank you ha. Anyway here is the idea well as close as I can get it on paint.

Tail light housing that will be made

All that black crap is being cut

Black top will be sheetmetal to cover flare. Sheet metal is going to come out from inside fender well which I will be working on soon. The sheet metal will come out and sit half way on the tube and get a bead down it all. Tail light housing may be changed a bit still not 100% on it but here are temporary tail lights. trunk was locked and did't have keys.

Thanks! I was thinking about a skid but decided to talk my self into a cell for about an hour or two it was pretty rough ha. Looking at the back of the jeep seeing no tank is pretty sweet. Didn't cost a whole lot I think i spent maybe 400 which isn't much more than a skid.

I don't have a bender so I can't make my own tubes, would you possibly be interested in bending me some tubes like you are doing for your XJ?

Sent from my iPhone using JeepForum
Possibly, let me know what all your thinking for the tube like length degrees all that stuff and if you have a picture of something that would be great. Then I can see if I can do it and how much it would all cost.

What are you going to atatch the inner side of the tube flares to? are you going to tie it into some of the frame work on the comp cut or are you keeping them stand alone? Either way if they get bashed they are gonna move a little sheetmetal unless you clearance them. I personally would frame the comp cut and tie them in a bunch of places and keep the "plated portion of the tube fender seperate from the sheetmetal below the window.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do about the inner fender. I thought something like this instead of just being boxed sheet metal I want to have tube (this would tie into frame) to match the outer fender in order to create shock hoops instead of making a cross-member in the rear for shocks. I was originally thinking about having the sheet metal that will be welded on to the fender go straight through to the inner fender and be welded to the body on either the outside or inside of the jeep. Not sure if this makes sense its been a long day, Wednesday is my only other day off hopefully I'll make some progress then with the inner fender. To much work and school not enough jeep! Made over time again so that's more money to the jeep.

I wish I could say I am but next week I hope to tackle the inner fender/ shock hoop and shortly after that get the axle taken care of and weld that all up. I feel like all that will leave me off the road for a little while.

If anyone here were to come across some Chevy silverado 1500 leaf springs 2wd let me know! Please
