Did some more work today and took some pictures

Here is the piece I made to support the rear

Added to the structure today, tube going across below the bend

Part of the template for the sheetmetal finished one side today hopefully the other side is pretty similar.

Today I finished the patterns for the sheet metal so tomorrow I'll be placing an order for some 18 gauge sheet metal. Took a bunch of pictures today and uploaded a video I took yesterday for ****s and giggles.

couple driveway shots

I thought about just using paper instead of the sheet metal but I think I'll spend a few extra bucks on the metal. Paper does look good though.

Also vacuumed her out a little bit, so many metal shavings and I have a few little holes in my carpet now from welding. I'm surprised my headliner never caught fire with all of the sparks.

Here is a little video just ridding around to see tires rollin

Thanks mike I'm about to order some metal right now. Scratching my head on what to do with the rear axle, buy gears and a yukon grizzly for the 8.8 and set it up myself or hold on to the 8.25 and continue searching for tons which I want in the long run. I have everything for the 8.8 except gears and that kinda sucks wish I knew then that things would be going a bit differently with the goals for the jeep. Might not be bad to have the 8.8 under there and beat on it until the 35s are done give me time to save more for axles and find a good deal. Decisions decisions

Why not beat it on the 8.25? It can take it as long as its a 29 spline.

I say keep the 8.25 while you save up some cash. As long as it can handle 35s why not?

That's what I think ill do maybe look into some disk brakes for it because d30 disks and 8.25 drums are terrible. Going to hold onto the 8.8 for a bit just Incase. Continuing to keep an eye out on pirate for axles.

What's your tire size goal? If your going with 35s I would just throw some alloys in that c8.25 the locker of your choice and grand cherokee or liberty disk brakes and run it.

I didn't think they made any alloys for the 8.25 yet might be mistaken though. Once the 35s are done I'll go up to 37's and probably stick with those for a while.

Yup they do, Yukon, Alloy USA, and a few others. Stock c8.25 shafts can handle locked and 35s so it should really be good to beat on if you put alloys in it. I wouldn't run 37s on it tough.
