I used to be in the same boat as you. Find the way to swap gears. It will pay for itself in due time

I didnt have to do the D30, but the 8.25 was easy to do. No whine at all.

It took about 2 to 3 hours or so. Not for sure because we were doing a few other things. I was at the shop from 11 am till 5. I didnt time the gear install.

Wow that seems pretty quick. Did either of you guys have experience in gear installs? Cause both of my buddies said it took a LONG time. It also looks like you had a pretty freakin nice shop to work in

My buddy has done some Dana axles. I had never done one at all. The 8.25 is far easier than a DANA to setup because it has screw adjusters to adjust the preload on the carrier bearings instead of shims like the Danas use. Not a whole bunch of removing and reinstalling the carrier to add or remove shims.

Ahh I gotcha. Maybe I should try to buy a geared Dana then gear my 8.25 like yourself

Installed the Treks 1.5" UBE kit yesterday.

Everything that comes with the kit...

Stock shock mounts plasma'd off..

The only way we had to lift and lower the body on the axle to get everything set up...

Burning the new junk on..

Voila...everything nice and neatly tucked under there...

Before.....

After....
