So after an exhilerating weekend at Hidden Falls... I have definitely made up my mind about what Id eventually like to do to the WWK.
D44 or 8.8, used, whichever I can find for a better deal - $300-$500
Since im buying a rear end, more than likely ill need to change the gearing to match my front end, so I might as well regear the both ends and lock the back.
Regear from 4.10 to 4.88 + locker - $1500
Getting rid of that damn shovel!
Tummy Tuck (skid plate, SYE, CV shaft, UCA's, exhaust mod) - $1000
Since im changing my rear end, ill need new wheels to match new bolt pattern, and since im getting differnt wheels, I might as well go from 15" to 16" to accomodate bigger tires AND a larger back space, so I might as well get bigger tires.
Wheels - $150
33" Tires - $450
And after beating my Jeep up, Ill be armoring it up...
Front diff gaurd - $50- $100
LCA gaurds - $50
Engine/Tranny skid - $300
So worst case, $4000, but since all these things kind of work together, and as I change one, I have to change the other, it may be a bit before I get to do all this, but I believe that once I get this set-up, ill be a happy camper.
The JK's have a steering system gaurd that is pretty cool. I wonder if someone makes something like that fof the TJ... maybe a piece of steel that starts narrow at the top and mounts to the underside of the frame and widens as it goes down... I just dont know where it would mount on the lower end... oh well, a possible steering system upgrade may be in order, but not until I tear this one up.
