Maybe building a shelf out of simple plywood as a temporary solution? I know this is not a WJ, but the idea is the same and you can fit a lot more stuff below and on top of the shelf. I tied mine down so that it does not shift, even when I'm bouncing over boulders.
Yeah when I go camping I take my system out and I got some shelfs, been thinking about take the sound system completely out and build it out of aluminum, was thinking I could use some heavy ball bearing sliders and make it lockable to fit a two ARs and two tactual shotguns, with ammo/ stuff to maintain them, that way they can be stored safe and secured, and the other side I could set up for recovery gear, tools and a air compressor for airing back up and running some air tools. On top set it up with tie downs all around

So I have to fix a few things with my Wj, which has changed my plan of a second trail rig, for now :-) back to Wj building lol, first off I am going to be replacing my front axle shafts, they are starting to make some noise, then it's off to getting my winch mount mounted and put a winch on it, bushwacker flares are in the mix, maybe after trimming for those I can stuff 32s lol. also I will be fabbing up sliders and tire carrier in the next month, cash is their :-) it's just time now.

I had to go play rescue rig tonight and pulled my friends truck out of the ditch and when I got back I found out that my wife ordered me IROs budget sliders :-D

I was going to build my own but she was so proud of her self for getting me something for the Wj that I needed. I can't brake her heart and tell her lol

I got all of this that is going on tomorrow

I think my brush guard will still work with the mount. I took it out in the rain and mocked it up, it's going to need some cutting and paint.
I also got the dc front ds this last week along with my diffs and transfer case gone though,, clean bill of health :-D

Got a lot done to the jeep tonight, first I all if you get the rough country winch mount chase all the threads at least 3 or 4 times and then go buy some better bolts, the powder coating sucked really bad, I was not able to get the brush guard and lights back on, I am waiting on the winch then I will figure it out the KCs will for sure get back on. I am thinking of selling the brush guard.

The lights went in real easy and they look so clean
