well, another 97 SE mild build up

Hey guys.

My jeep was knifed a couple of weeks ago so a new top was in order. I decided to make a few changes other than the top....just to kind of "finish' my build....for now.

Bought the Jeep in December of 2005 with 114,000 miles on it. In June I put in a Rubicon Express Budget Boost...since I needed new shocks...

Been riding like this since then:

When I ordered the new top I also ordered some Bestop Seat Covers in Spice, some Cragar Soft 8's from Summit and a set of High-Tec Retreads in 31-10.50. OTR Muds. (I dont want to hear the retread flame crap)

Anyway...here it is after yesterday's tire/wheel install:

This afternoon Im gonna be putting on the new Bestop RAT in Spice.

Next Im looking for a new rear bumper....Id like one with a reciever that I can tow a small 1000 lb load (4X6 enclosed trailer or my 4X8 for the lawn mower). I have the stock bumper and a class 3 hitch under it, but Id like to gain some clearance with a bumper with integrated hitch.

Thanks for looking and any comments (good ones at least) are welcome!

Chris M

Nice and clean. Looks nice.

Mine is due for some TLC after this weekend's wheeling trip.

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

Nice looking Jeep. And when installing the RAT, with 2 people it shouldn't take any longer than 20 minutes.

Thanks for the comments guys. I really like the look much better. The tires have a nice, aggresive roar to them on the road....I like it!

Didnt get to the top today, but first thing in the morning......after I hang a new screen door, paint the front porch chairs, mow the yard, and clean out the garage..........Ill have my new top on!

Thanks. I went with the 4inch BS. I didnt want alot of tire hanging out from under the flares. I like it. There seems to be about an inch sticking out.

Picked the soft 8's up from summit.

Wow, the spice looks much better than the black. Amazing difference with the green. A new soft top can make a new Jeep. Looks very good

To me, black steel rims really set off a Wrangler, and being green makes it look military. I too have the black Cragars on my white '03 Sport, with 32" inch BFG's and a 2" inch lift. Anyway your setup looks great. Good luck on your rear bumper. The only thing I'll be doing to my bumpers is removing the 'ol milkjugs. I'm not much of an offroader, just like Wranglers and the "look".

God Bless,
Stu
