Weekend Warrior TJ

Up to date pic:

The Build:

Been through 3 XJ's...finally got myself a TJ. Plan is to keep it relatively mild (yea i know i know), but no matter what i do, it has to stay comfortable and be able to be used every day as a DD.

2001, 113,xxx miles, 3 speed auto (really wish i had overdrive), 3.07 gears in the diffs.

1st thing i did was get rid of the chrome wheels:

15x8 steelies with 30x9.5 all terrains

Compliments of Hendrix, i got a stock tire carrier, and mounted up my spare:

and removed the chrome side steps.

Then sold the goofy pocket flares, replaced with new rugged ridge stock replacment flares, had to buy all new hardware, so i drilled out the holes one size bigger to fit some nice stainless hardware/lock nuts.

Next up, i bought a full spider web shade cage, and bestop rear cover:

Also threw in a new headunit and new speakers all around.

Around this time, i traded my hardtop for a soft top + cash:

Then i ordered some Centramatics dynamic wheel balancers, as a buddy of mine had great luck with them (and im fighting some tire issues)

Some upgrades in progress, ordered the Rough Country 2.5" lift, w/progressive rate coils and 2.0 shocks. (heard the 2.5's were a bit stiff)

Here it is all done and with a new alignment:

Next up...new rubber....

Dealing with an overly sensitive steering now. Ill be going over what the shop set my alignment at. Im guessing my caster is off.

What kind of hardtop was that? It looked odd but I did like how the back window was more like a truck topper's.

They wont work with rear drum brakes, but I've had good results with then on front axle. I've never heard them while driving either. I'm happy with them.

Looks good so far. You should paint your headlight bezels black, maybe even the whole grill since the color scheme is blue and black...

Make sure you anti-seize on those threads, RK rod ends tend to lock on to the treads of there arms and never let go.
