Awesome.

Today's Jeeping: No updates from ARB, as it's Saturday on at least half the planet's surface. If I feel up to it, I'll pull a front shock to see if there's any appreciable damage.

Unfortunately it's been even worse in the last few days... and the shock issues are NOT helping me out, any.

I had one, but I traded it for a microphone.

I might be way off, but wouldnt a major failure of the shock valving have a rough ride because it is on straight spring for the beginning of travel?

... and see what it's really going to take to build one...and then I'm going to triple that cost/time estimate and see how I feel.

Best gas milage from my Jeep to date: The time I pushed it across the lot at work.

No, that was pretty intentional...as was another Elwood reference from a few days back.

I honestly don't know; I need to do a LOT more reading so I can figure out how shocks actually work.

It's been over a year ago since I made this picture. I thought it was pretty damn good, so I'm posting it again. Your beard matches the tail.
The closest Chick-fil-A to me had a sign up saying they were going to be closing for remodeling. I drove by the next day after seeing the sign and the whole building was gone.

Stupid question time (hand raised from the dimly-lit back of the class)

Are you referring to the shaft of the shocks, or axle shafts?

I'm quite a bit interested in how this turns out - your comment about handling over pot holes got my attention. As I'm relatively new to the Jeep thing (at least with a TJ), I had just assumed it was a combination of short wheel base and "it's a Jeep, of course it rides rough." But ever since I bought mine it's had a pretty rough ride; even after changing all my shocks last year it's still pretty rough going over holes and bumps. Jarring, I think, is the best word to describe it. So this has me thinking, is it something else? Something in the axle?

My general rule of thumb is to maintain enough weaponry to start a small war, and enough ammunition to finish it. -Sundowner
