the battle with dw continued!!! i removed that hideous steering stabilizer setup after much harassment from jf members, found my nut on the tracbar tie rod end was a little loose. problem is i couldnt get it to tighten....or loosen. tried heat, pb blaster, applied pressure with crowbar to try and get it to grab som threads but nothing, so ordered up a rubi express tbar and took the grinder to the tie rod end. im hoping i ican find out what brand adj tracbar it is so i can just order a replacement end and have a backup or sell it to a buddy. new bar came in and after a quick instal dw was gone!

first 2 pics are of the ****ty tre, last one is of the new tbar

Don't worry about Imped, he rags on anyone's Jeep that isn't LCOG, sport currie everything, and have a stretched wheelbase.

Love the yellow, nothing screams Jeep Wrangler like one in bright yellow. As for the bumper being welded to the frame, you might wanna fix that. Imagine if you really smash a rock or something, you're going to bend that frame. Just saying.

And you might not wanna go telling everyone to **** off, the mods won't like that

next up, i needed some flex pics. the qds that were on it had a neat design but i could only ever get the drivers side off. passenger side was stock on and no matter hoe much blaster, heat or wrenchin i did it would only twist the rubber bushing and not break the threads loose. was strapped for cash this week and its only my weekend warrior so i went and ordered some RC quick disconnects for 4-6" lift $67. took the grinder to the old ones (can you tell what my favorite tool is? haha) and in roughly an hr had em on and workin. wasn't impressed with RC's instructions that came with the kit.

1st pic with ss monstracity gone, next 2 of pass side qd, 3rd is wat happens with too much heat, last 2 would-be flex fotos before i install the new qds

not much has changed. few wheeling trips here or there and alot of little excursions out back. getting ready to address the next round of problems that have been put off due to lack of funds over the last few months including frame/body rot, regear, fabbing up some custom rear UCA's with JJs and sye and cv shaft. started ordering parts today and will continue over the next week or two. planning on starting last week of february and taking the entire body off to make frame repair and regear a bit more accessable.

ok time to get **** serious. ordered up parts over the last month, including:

nitro 4.88 gears for d30/d44 (went with thick cut/rubi style for d44, preventing need for larger carrier)
master rebuild kits for both diffs
monstaliner, chassis saver, & spray gun
currie rear upper adjustable ca's
weldable JJs for rustys lower ca's
Safe-t-cap for frame repair
floorpans driver/pass sides
SYE form hinson on jf
going to hold off to get ds from tattons or adams

most of this stuff has showed up or is on its way, with a few exceptions.

got the bumper cut off in the firt pic. PO had it welded on there and not very well

started taking the seats out and what a ***** on this rusty old heep. driver side wasnt too bad but i could get my pass side to fold and tumble. after a half hour of messing with it, using pb blaster, and studying the underside of the drivers seat it came free and i could access the torx bolt holding it on

the drivers side floor board is pretty bad. i began to pry and knock the rusty parts off which exposed enough dirt, sand, rust, salt to start a garden.

the body mounts are shot. in fact as we wrenched on the bolts to take them out we found 3/4 were just spinning a rust chunck of floor with them rather than back out. torch time.

Hey man, nice jeep. Yellow TJ's are the only TJs I like lol

Just out of curiosity did the "Wasn't Me" come from the movie Rocketman?

heres a link to a clip from the movie.

Good luck with the rust!

couple pics of jeep with clip off.

body mounts were all rusted and when trying to turn the bolts out we found chunck of the floor just spun with it so we torched most of them out

invited some buddys over to help lift the tub off

I'll be following your thread since I'm considering a similar task. What's your projected repair time and cost?
