That's a nice looking XJ. A lift first is a good idea. But are you looking to also get bigger tires too?

you'd probably have to go with at least a 4.5" lift with some trimming to fit 32's. as well as getting wheel spacers or new wheels with backspacing that will clear the LCAs with steering at full lock. that's going to be a nice project though

I could easily fit 32"s on my 3" lift with the trimming I've done, and even 33"s if I would bump stop a little.

An RE 4.5" lift and trimming like I've done would easily fit 33"s

You can bend those mounts back flat, trust me.
use a vise to get them as close as you can, then hammer and anvil (or I-beam like me).
I may have heated them a little, but I didn't burn the paint.
Also, you'll need a flat piece of steel - maybe 1/4"? with a hole in it to pull the frame-tube out flat again.

Eh, that company makes the exact same bumper for early Bronco's, CJs/Wranglers, and Scouts, way too generic to me.
