I got them just before Christmas from 4wd.com They were $100. off each light and they only took me 15 minutes to install. All I had to do was plug and play!!!! I have to eventually replace the radiator, currie steering, and so much more. Still fixing other problems from the other PO did or neglected. Thanks

Great looking Rubicon! Seems like you're doing the armor mods first, which is definately the way to go! Be sure to get some aluminum or steel armor underneath as well, even though you've said you'd like to stay away from rocks. Protection is helpful even on mild/moderate trails!

Also, just a thought, but you may want to go back and edit the first of the below posts. Seems to me like the company made the problem right, and by editing/removing your comment, you might do them a service. People search on here about manufacturers/resellers/products and sometimes only read a post or two. It'd be a shame if someone didn't keep reading and left with the thought that Ballistic screwed you. I've never done business with them, but just my $0.02.

Thanks DJflyy. The problem hasn't been worked out yet. They haven't refunded me the money I spent. If they do I will edit my post but not till then. Thanks I really didn't include all the BS I have gone through with this company either.

nice rubi...

few things to consider.

seems like your ordering alot of stuff from Quadratec, 4wp etc. there are other companies out there that put out supperior products but dont have the advertisment budget that those big box 4x4 stores have. take a look through the vendors list here on the forum. alot of them even offer member disounts.

quatdatec offers free ground shipping on everthing they sell (maybe not everything, but i havent found the limit) when you go to order tell them you are part of the forum and they should give you the free shipping without an issue. and since your only 30 mintues away from me, you should get your items the same as I do, within 2-3 days. i dont order much from them, but when I call them up they have everything on file all i have to do is tell them what i want and it gets shipped and billed within the day usually.

Have you heard of the southern Maryland hard rock crawlers. we are a local club from St. marys county who actually get out and wheel quite often. we take club trips to all the local offroad parks. take a look through my videos in my signature to see if its something your interested in. we usually meet once a month to go over club events. we have lots of variety of rigs, from a few stock rigs all the way up to tube buggys on 44's. its a great group of guys. if you are interested let me know... the website has been getting alot of spam accounts and the admins have been deleting most requests due to the spam (like 50/day).

That's cool. Just passing the word.

Though why the upgraded ROCK sliders if your not going to take it offroad?

You might be surprised what a place like Rausch creek has to offer someone who wants to take it easy in their jeep. Plenty of green and blue trails that you would have fun on but not really risk breaking anything. Plenty of Rover guys on 31-32's you could hang out with, lord knows they spend all day in the blues.

I do want to take it off road I am just not a rock guy!!! No offense I just don't see the point in it. I am retiring out of the Air Force in 16 Mo and I am trying to get everything finished up before I have to find a real job (as my dad says). I haven't worked on my CJ in over 8 mo and I need to put sometime and money in it soon or I am going to sell it. I am ready to sell it but my awesome wife says I will never find one in this good of condition again and I will hate myself down the road if I sell it.

Sounds like a good wife you got there.

And what I was trying to say about RC was that there are a lot of trails that aren't necessarily just rocks. It's a little bit of everything. some very fun blue trails out there.

What type of offloading are you looking for? Or where do you get offroad now?

here is the embarrassing part. The last rig I built was a trailer queen that never went offroad and was in a local catalog. Now the rubi is being built to actually go offroad. The CJ will be a weekend tool around town. I have to say I have been stationed here for a long time and never have seen a place to offroad, so I have never gone. Boy do I want to go though. I still need to armor up a little more and get an american made winch. Not sure what company makes an american made winch. I don't mind spending more to keep us working. I sure hope to meet you and your crew this year and probably embarass myself

there are lots of threads out there on american made winches.

we have a guy down here in St Marys who has some land we wheel on ocassionally, but you have to be a member of the club to go out there and its rare that we get out there.

the only other places to go are in the 3.5-4 hour range. Rausch Creek offroad park (PA), Gore (the cove campground, VA), Oak Ridge (VA). Ocassionally the bigger guys in the club take long distance runs with trailers. This summer we are tinkering with the idea of a Vermont/New York long distance trip.

Of the places i listed. Oak Ridge would be your best bet to get a feel for your jeep and what you want to do, lots of lower trails and some very cool river crossings. They open the property up for events throughout the year. the next one being wheeling 4 hope in late April.

No need for a winch at Wheelin 4 hope, just recovery points front and rear that you will probably not need. and the armor that come stock on a TJ will suffice.

Apologies then! I misinterpreted it as you had resolved the problem completely. Look forward to seeing the Rubi keep being built, and pleeeease don't get rid of the CJ. If it's in good shape you'll be kicking yourself down the road for getting rid of it.
