Looking good man! Spark plugs were crazy easy after learning how they were set up. I didn't have any help doing it I just pulled and the whole rail came off at once. I realized the great design afterwards of course. Makes changing the spark plugs much more enjoyable. No more pulling one plug wire at a time busting knuckle after knuckle. The rail gives you something big to grab and wiggle to remove all the plug boots at once. Notice it run any different?
Trans mount won't be too bad. Just lift drivetrain with a jack and take off the transfer case skid and then install the new mount. Just planning the next wish list for mine. Still have a weird clicking noise when turning under power. Don't know what it is. Looking into replacing old suspension, new fender options, and then the savvy under armor skid. All of course as money allows.
Hunter I thought you said something about my arb pump I have to take off the upper part of the skid too. I always read your posts on your build. I would love to get new fenders too. No money right now. Gonna get started back up on the CJ REALLY SOON. Have to rewire the dash up gonna solder everything this time.
Just skimmed through your build here, nice to see another MD jeep. Still curious why you have added so much armor but don't want to do any rocks? I will also second a trip to Rausch Creek, its alot of fun.
Here is a Youtube video I made with awhile back on green/blue level trails at Rausch Creek; the last trail I think is black.
Thanks Bedwell. I am going to go up there with Hunter7158. I have always been a planner. The brown santa brought me a skid row radiator skid this morning. I just watched your video and I would love to do that except maybe that hill that was filled with rocks. I just don't like the huge boulders that a lot of guys climb. I live quite aways from there and would hate to have a major failure and have to try and get home.
Thanks Hunter7158 I am going to trop the skid today and fix that trans mount. I Hope. Love snow days Just have to warm the garage up later and get going.
Installed the Radiator skid and new trans mount. Radiator skid was the easiest mod yet. 5 min. The trans mount was about an hour and 15 minutes. Lots of Rust and a touched up everything with rustoleum paint. Putting the skid plate up by myself sucked till I grabbed a bunch of bricks I used to keep getting it higher till it wasn't so bad. Done Hopefully I will take it out in the next couple of days. Will let you know.
Used the same heater. No new one yet. I left it out there for four hours before I went out. The old mount wasn't broken but it was worn really bad. Hopefully it will fix the clunking. We only got about an inch and a half over night and then pretty much rain all day. How about you any snow?
I drove the jeep into base today and I had a really bad vibration when I was stopped at lights. I don't know how I could of put the trans mount on wrong. UGH any opinions would be greatly appreciated. You will see the pics above on what I installed over the last week
