You have no idea how lucky you are, taking a trip to Moab.....makes me sick....I would love to go there one day, just so far away.

I am incredibly lucky sir. I live in the middle of some of the best wheeling in the nation.

Road trip out and lets wheel!

I remember you saying something about you would be happy if that engine lasted till summer. Planning on a engine swap?

Man me keep seeing your build makes me want another xj (dont tell the wrangler boys) I bought a 1991 limited about a year ago as a project and sold it when i went off to college, but man it was fun! honestly had 270,000 miles on it when i sold it and ran like a beast. (i put it through some tough stuff since it was just a toy) sorry for the digression, back to the mans build!

Well i guess the luck i had with my last engine i was planning on it needing work. but this engine and tranny seem to be in much better condition (even with 60k more miles)... so we will see!!

i am very torn between cherokees and wranglers... the cherokee is an awesome off roader and a great overall vehicle... but there is something so fun about a wrangler. my dream build is an lj

yeah right

Cool jeep dude. Sorry to hear about the rollover, that has to suck. The new one looks great though, you should paint the faded flares/bumper end caps.

For plastic bumper covers/flares which flex get SEM plastic paint or something similar. It might be hard to find an exact match but a contrasting color might look good. I think Krylon makes a flexible paint also. The key is in the prep' work, SEM also makes a spray adhesion enhancer (primer) that helps the paint stick.

I started hitting everything I could with the satin black Krylon Fusion. Fender flares, bumper end caps, door handles, roof racks, etc. Love it! And the prep is super easy - just wipe down with generic window cleaner and you're set.

It comes in a ton of colors, too. (Although I've only seen the full selection at online retailers. Walmart around me just has some basic colors.)

They should, I did bumpers with it about 9 years ago and it's still holding up fine. The "plastic prep" primer is critical if spraying on bare plastic, if going over existing paint just scuff well with very fine sandpaper/steel wool and spray several lite coats.

Got the camper on, Jeep loaded and am leaving ~10:00 A.M. tomorrow, see you there. Darn 3 hour drive, don't know if I'll make it

Come to think of it the way my tow rig has been acting I might not.
