Things are coming together. Where have you been? I was starting to think you got hit by a bus.

I'll have a few photos later tonight to go with the most recent progress. I haven't been in the garage in a few days. It's been so cold (single digit high temps) it's not been worth it to warm the garage up.

I mounted the transmission cooler, radiator and fan for the final time. Sprayed a little paint at the bare metal where I scratched the grill up. That's about it for now.

Tomorrow I'm going to get the grille in it's home and start fitting up the radiator hoses.

Great work on the build, I have been watching from the beginning. I am in the midddle of the same swap (1999 5.9 and 46re into a 1999 tj auto). I put mine on hold for a couple more weeks as it is pretty chilly up in northern Alberta -27F.

Thanks! It's gotten as low as -5F here recently. Even so, I'd never attempt this without a heated garage. You should post up a build thread.

I think you should paint Betty the color in your avatar and accent it with that orange, that would look sweet. Or is that the plan??

That's been the plan all along, but I was keeping it secret. So

That's the orange paint in the pic -- not a decal. Plan is for flat black grill, fenders, rocker and rear corner guards. Tub, hood, windshield frame in orange.

Oh, in your avatar it looks almost like a flat gray, which would also be pretty sweet

Yeah. A gray gray would be cool too. The flat black just looks sinister, so I had to do it.

What's wrong with doing it without a heated garage? Oh yea, you end up like me staring at it from inside and getting nothing done.
I'm with the others, the grill looks sweet and your plan on the paint sounds like a great look, can't wait to see when it gets there.

Hahaha, and sadly very little has changed since that picture was taken. Oh well.

Actually, heated or not, I probably wouldn't do it without my garage. You're tougher than I am.

I got a little bit done tonight. Last week has been full of distractions. Lots of people stopping by to look at the Jeep, which ends up with more beer drinking and BS'ing than wrench turning. Plus it's been cold enough for a few days where I haven't wanted to turn on the heat out there.

I decided I wasn't happy with the transmission cooler lines. The have been bent, unbent and rebent numerous times. Kinked in a few places, too short here and too long somewhere else. The factory routing interfered with the body and the exhaust. She's never going to be a show truck, but I wanted to route the lines a little better. The passenger side is going to end up being two pieces because I can't route it as one. I got the driver side done and half of the passenger side. I need to devise a method to strap the lines down to the frame. I'm thinking those wire holdy downy thingies with a self tapping screw.

My O2 sensors are going to end up further upstream than where they were originally, so I need to de-loom the wires and move them. Once I get the tranny cooler lines set, I'm going to fiddle with the radiator hoses then try to finish the exhaust.

I got some progress this morning. Tranny cooler lines are run and all hooked up. Radiator hoses are cut and installed. De-loomed the O2 sensors and I'm working on rewrapping those wires.

Next is the t-case shifter then I'll put the skid back on. I might fire it up after all that because I can keep it cool now.
