sweet deal, yea i was going to do 33s too but said screw it i had the 35s laying around and glad i did it now...with the 3.73 and 6spd 35s are really not bad at all, i was cruising in 6th down the parkway today at 70 with no problem...regearing would be nice but right now its totally driveable
Thats good to know, that was one of my concerns. I am planning the D60's front and rear but thats a ways off. I have a BL and an MML ordered as well and already got my savvy tank skid. Going to get the TT when its out and call it good for a while. Man this stuff adds up!
That looks great... Time to see that little lift go on there to gain some belly clearance (need a true TT to go along with that of course ). One thing about the LJs are that they require that little extra bit to get their numbers right for the trail... A stretch is never the problem, but getting everything high makes a difference. I was also wondering what the 3.73s were like, but sounds like it is at least bearable for now.
x2 for painting the top. You have the means to do it. One question though, how noisy is the hard top. I wouldn't expect it to be noisy at all since my soft top is quiet, I get all of my noise from the windshield now. BTW, that little stinger is exactly what I am hoping that Savvy makes for their bumper. I think it would protect the only important thing from a deer hit, and that would be the radiator.
I think it is time for a 1" BL and a savvy gts painted black to give you a better departure angle for that long back.
yea 35s and 3.73s are really not that bad...was expecting much worse. the hardtop is very quiet but im coming from a yj with a softtop...yea i think when i get some free time I will pull the hardtop off and spray it in a matte black to go with the blacked out look. yea i will do the fully savy underbody on the next set of mods in this project. for now its time to drive it and enjoy for a little while i make plans for stage 2
I like your plan of waiting for now... I hear their next product will probably be dual rate sway bars, but after that should be the TT. Gerald told me that it will include a BL, so I wouldn't even bother with one until then.
If you're going to paint the hardtop, I can give the krylon fusion 2 thumbs way up. I did my fender flares and mirrors before my trip to VA and they came out great. Get about 2-3 cans for your hard top and some light grit sand paper. All you have to do is run the sandpaper over it a tad before painting and you're golden.
I say ditch the 3/4" coil spring spacers and get the RE Extreme duty 2.5" or 3.5" LA rear 4" radius stretch with 5.13's upgrade to JK rubi 44's or chromo your axles you have now and run 37's or even 38's. Personally I'd go 2.5" and run the 37x12.50/17 KM2's and AEV Pinter Beadlocks and 4.88's and add a header, free flowing 2.5" exhaust, ignition, intake, TB, and Superchips flashpaq and that thing should be ridiculous. You seem to have the dough to do it all why not? lol. I think those highline fenders will clear the stretch if not I know metal cloak makes some corner guards for stretched LJ's, TJ's, and JK's. I also wouldn't forget a good clutch also...
