UCC 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Build...
Before picking up the 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited I had been building a 1987 Jeep Wrangler with an endless amount of mods including 7 inches of lift, waggy 44s, aussie lockers, etc but my younger brother was driving it and got into an accident and that ended that build.
During the build ![]() After the accident ![]() So I began looking for a 2004-2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited because I wanted a bit more room and to have the ability to tow 3500lbs. I eventually picked up a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in Patriot Blue (fully loaded) with only 19,100 miles from a couple in CT. It came with both a hardtop and the factory softtop. The carfax came back clean and had been regularly serviced by Jeep. So sent out our tow truck and picked it up for 15,500 which for NY was a pretty good deal. ![]() ![]() ![]() For more pictures and to follow the complete build check out: Zenfolio | Ultimate Collision Center | Dan's Yeep- 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited My goal for this build is to keep it with a LCG because the last jeep was fun but it wouldn't have flipped if it hadn't been lifted so high. I want to tastefully modify it with function in mind. I will update this thread regularly and many more pictures will follow as parts arrive. To start I knew I wanted the MetalCloak system on the Jeep. I called up Matson at MetalCloak and ordered: ![]() MetalCloak Overline Tube Fender ![]() MetalCloak Overline Flat Flare - 6" ![]() MetalCloak Low Profile LED Marker Lights ![]() MetalCloak Removable Rear Flare- 6" ![]() MetalCloak Rocker System ![]() MetalCloak Modular Flip Step After getting those ordered I knew I wanted a beefy front bumper and rear tire carrier/bumper. So after some research I called up Preston at TuffDesigns and ordered: ![]() Tuff Designs Front Bumper ![]() Tuff Designs Rear Bumper/Swing Out Tire Carrier I also purchased some TKH Fabrications Frame Tie Ins to add more strength to the rear bumper and some Moeller Scepter ECO Jerry Cans for the rear bumper. Now that I had the big items ordered and waiting for them to arrive I ordered a Fumoto Oil Drain Plug Valve (F101N) to help make oil changes easier. Then I ordered some items for my differentials: ![]() Riddler Differential Cover Dana 30 ![]() LubeLocker "Reusable" Differential Gasket for Dana 30 Axle ![]() Aussie Front Locker Riddler Differential Cover Dana 44 LubeLocker "Reusable" Differential Gasket for Dana 44 Axle Then I decided that I didn't want to run any lift on the Jeep so I ordered a 0.75" Front Coil Spacer to account for the weight of the front bumper. Then I ordered some interior pieces: Rugged Ridge Sport Bar Grab Handles in Red Rugged Ridge Sport Bar Fire Extinguisher Holder in Red Then I ordered some new headlights (Autopal H4 E-Code) and plan to order the DDM HID kit for it after I get most of the current modifications installed. Then I got the itch to pick up a MetalCloak Frame-Built Bumper system which I will have pics of shortly. Then I couldn't decide what tires and wheels to run so in the meantime I ordered a set of your typical jeep Cragar Soft 8s to mount my BFG A/T KO's (35x12.5x15) from my wrecked YJ. FUTURE MODIFICATIONS:

Well the stuff for this build keeps arriving to the house and shop. I have been swamped at work and haven't had time to work on the LJ let alone put NY plates on the it. Maybe this weekend I will get around to installing some of these parts. I also have a new metalcloak front bumper coming. In the picture is the tuffdesigns front bumper.
