Okay. I guess I was under the impression it was up there with changing gears for difficulty. I'll look up some write-ups.

I've been following his build, but only recently. I'll have to look at it. Thanks!

You're going to like that locker. I have the Aussie, but put it in myself (with a friend).

Just got it ordered. Install looks fairly simple. Went to Powertrax's website and it said that lockrights can be installed in under two hours with basic tools and mechanical skills.

By the way, northridge4x4 had it for $220 plus free shipping if anyone is interested. Not a sale price either.

Its not too complicated. I'd say pull the whole diff out and put it in on a table to work on it. Just be sure to mark the diff straps for which side they are on.

Yep. Mike has a good write up in his build. I'm feeling confident.

Hopefully if the lockright shows up before the 4th i can install it with my dad on the 4th.

And honestly, after this is just a rear axle. Definitely going the 44 just for the ease of it. Unless of course I find a steal on an 8.8 on nc4x4 or something But this will pretty much get my rig as strong as I'd like on my budget. Then I can focus on other odds and ends items: armor, MC arms, winch, and getting a 5th tire to mount my wheel on.

sounds like a good plan, i would rather a 44 over a 8.8 anyday. has nothing to do with strength or any realistic applications.. just super ocd and i couldnt imagine having a rear axle shorter than my front. it would eat me alive lol

My 8.8 is actually half an inch wider than my front with spacers... And when I ran my 30 you would have never known it was different. Plus the abundance of junkyard parts is really nice.
