TYphoon's XJ Build

UPDATE: Jeep is on 5.5" With long arms right now. Looking to get a HP44 and d60. Gear them and Truss the 44 and maybe the 60 if I 4link. High Steer. Hydro Assist (eventually). Also a NP231 and twin stick d300 combo. Looking to run 35s next then 37s I am in college now so not sure how quickly this will happen. STAY TUNED. I am going to the next level!

MY LIST:
See build thread. Too many changing plans to keep updating my list of parts
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____
Well, I got my first vehicle last week. Turns out, it is EXACTLY what I have been wanting for about a year now thanks to Bandit455 turning me onto Jeeps. Anyways. I am a highschooler and I get all my money through cutting grass which brings in about 150$ a week. And since I am still paying this beauty off and I need to rebuild my MX Bike, the lift and such wont be here for a little while, but hey, I will still be making changes to this thing It is my DD so I will not being going toooo crazy with it, but I plan on doing an RC 3" Lift With rear springs, Soft 8s, 32s, Tow Hooks, Hitch, Flowmaster 40, and some KC Daylighters top. I know, pretty standard stuff. I bet 1000 guys come through here with this list haha. This is just the list I have now...and I dont really know much about the sport...yet I am sure it will be a MUCH BIGGER list in time lol. Just these past two weeks I have learned so much, and there is plenty to come! So here is what I have to work with.

1996 Cherokee XJ.
220K
5spd Manual
4.0 High Output
Almost 100% Stock

All I did so far is clean the interior and exterior, take off the front plate holder, and replace an unwanted sticker on the rear windshield with a clean Dunlop Sticker. Nothing too flashy. Here are some shots of the thing, the interior, and my first mod
After the first clean (before the wax, mostly interior cleaning done)

Here are some interior shots. It has these awesome Mats down over the carpet, I love them. I was bonused when I saw them in there. Also, I took a picture of some speakers in the back with a light in between them. I am not quite sure if they came with all the XJ's in this year or if they were put in by a previous owner. The vinyl on the unit seems to be a slightly different shade than the rest of the vinyl on the ceiling.

And here is the drivers door. The rivet came out to keep the door from shutting when it is open, so I just put this in there for now. Works fine if you ask me

And here is the engine. I need a valve cover gasket. :shh:

Haha yeah, for 220K it is in pretty good condition. I need to take care of some rust still, nothing too major. I am very pleased

i got what you need for rust left over from doing my frame, its just a stops rust primer and a flat black top coat. Just grind it to bare metal or wire brush it clean and spray away.

interior looks clean, and the shift knob isnt stock. I am also surprised to see a drivers side airbag!

and btw your signature isnt working

That's a pretty pristine XJ you got there... And a 5 speed, too.

yeah, it will probably never be this clean again. Thats how everything that I buy is. It is perfectly clean when I buy it, I get it completely dirty and it is never clean like that again

ty you still up for wrenching and wheeling on the 21st? I may have to wait till the 24th, we gotta get those swaybar disconnects on for ya! PB Blast your current swaybar links where they attach to the axle pretty soon so they will be an easy swap.
