Here's what I've been doing. Finish painting tomorrow and bolt it up!

A surprise will be posted tomorrow

Thanks man!

Well I said I would post a surprise, even more so then I thought.

Took off my front bumper and sighed at how bad my frame is.
forumrunner_20120405_221028.jpg

Went to go mount my surprise bumper and winch to find it was completely impossible and unacceptable.
forumrunner_20120405_221038.jpg

Did a coin flip on whether or not to get to work and it landed heads.
forumrunner_20120405_221210.jpg

Here's how I left it. Shackle angles are 65 passenger 60 driver and 27.5" to the top of each frame rail. Should work out okay!

Welded in capture nuts for the TJ bumper
forumrunner_20120409_221625.jpg

Pulled out my high pressure bypass for my power steering.
forumrunner_20120409_221453.jpg

Looks like someone has been in here before, the stud has grind marks on it. So I settled with just stretching the big spring and boring out the main fitting to 9/64ths. I might go in there and shim it for more power later, but at the time I was cautious of blowing up my new refurbished steering box. Steering is super nice now!
forumrunner_20120409_221512.jpg

Sliders built and installed, flares cut to match, frame straightened within 1/8th of an inch, TJ bumper and 6000# warn winch installed, KCs re mounted and wired, new XJ steering box in, PS pump modded, and washed it. Now my drivers caliper is dragging.

Build looks nice!

I want to fab some rocker guards sometime soon (lots of other stuff to fix first!). I don't have the ability to bend round tubing, so I like the way you used square tubing to do basically the same thing. I might have to "borrow" your idea. What size/thickness of material did you use to make them?

You might have covered this...you're running 33x12.50s with a 2.5" lift and TJ flares? Any shackle lift? I want to run 33s and I have a set of TJ flares waiting to be installed...wasn't sure if I'd need to do a bigger lift than 2.5" though.

Thanks!

Borrow away! They're full length guards that go 5.75" up the face of the rocker and 5.75" under the rocker. The plate is 3/16ths steel and the square tube is 1/8th by 2x2" with 4 stand offs that make the total width 4". If you need anymore information or pictures just ask!

Yep, 33x12.5 duratracs on 3.75" backspaced wheels. 2.5" OME lift 14f springs front 36r rear. TJ flares are pushed up as far as possible and I have extended my front bumpstops 1". No shackle or body lift. The front is really coozy and I've bent up the fenders more than once. This summer they'll be replaced with highlined tube fenders for the extra clearance. The rear is fine though.
Get 36Rs all the way around and you should be pretty good on clearance.
Hope this helps

Wow really? I'm honored, thank you. I'm really just getting started though?!
I think it might be like blond girls in a group. They look really really hot together until you inspect each one. XD

Stayed in Anacortes last night and met up with Zac later in the day. He was generous enough to donate a pair of 5/8th" shackles and his old full size spare! Plus some time to help me wash it up a bit.
forumrunner_20120415_225353.jpg

Then Mike, our "sugar daddy" lol, gave me this monster to try and cram under the hood. Hopefully it in conjunction with some restoration will make my winch worth a crud.

Besides the 8.8 swap and the highlife fenders what else does you keep have in store for it?

Locked front, rear bumper and tire carrier, highline ft/rear, Tummy tuck, SYE, brakes, 8.8 with LSD exhaust, paint and bedline, shocks, slider boxes for the rear, regear/motor swap, etc...
Lots of crap I want to do, not enough time or money to do it.

Lol you just had to make fun of it one last time....

I left it on my neighbors door step and got a call that went like this "you know I gave you that spare right?" "Yeah and I gave it back!" "*insert profanity*" XD
