The Turtle - 96 XJ Country

Hey all...this is my current XJ build...looking to build a solid DD and expedition rig. Got a pretty decent start so far.

It's a 96 country, got it for 1100...in fairly decent shape. Needs a new floor board due to rust and needed and entire new suspension and steering set up.

Here she is in stock form.

Not much to look at haha. 275k on the clock, 4.0, AW4, NP231, HPD30 and D35 axles.

Here is where she is at now.

Mods currently
Rubicon Express 3.5 Super Ride
Bilstein 5100 Shocks
Cragar V-5 15x8 with 32x11.50x15 Goodyear MT/R w/ Kevlar
Rugged Ridge Tie Rod
Crown Extended Brake Lines
MORE Steering Box Brace
JCR Offroad Vanguard Winch Bumper with LED Pods & 2 LED bars
Optima Yellow Top
DBO Optima Battery Tray
Prime 4x4 Switch Panel
Rugged Ridge Sand Driver Seat
eBay Snorkel
Magnaflow 2.5" Exhaust

There's probably others I'm missing.

I am currently acquiring parts to rebuild the axles. This is 95% of the time a daily driver, so drivability is key. I picked up an 8.25 rear axle and an HPD30 housing and will be rebuilding them for solid stoutness and for daily duties.

Eaton Rear LSD (8.25)
Detroit TruTrac Front LSD (D30)
4.56 D30 & 8.25 Gears
Master Install Kits D30 & 8.25
8.25 29 Spline Chromoly Shafts
Synergy Inner Sleeve Kit
AlloyUSA Ball Joint Kit
Artec C Gusset Kit
JKS Mini Skids
Beefier Sway Bar Mounts

They'll be stout enough for the wheeling I do, but also nice to drive on the street.

I'll keep updating this as I go. I have some other stuff to install, like a whole new floor pan and carpeting as well as some audio stuff. I'll get more pictures as I go along.

I can get some pics later today or tomorrow for ya. I like the mount, it works well.

I LOVE my RE lift and the Bilsteins. My XJ is a daily 99.5% of the time, so comfort is important to me. The 5100s are a great shock and the RE kit rides really well. My only gripe is the front is lower, so I am debating getting ACOS to adjust it to even and then I'll have room to go up and go to 33s when I need tires.

10Factory 29 Spline Rear Shafts
G2 4.56 Gears and Rebuild Kit (8.25)

G2 4.56 Gears and Rebuild Kit (D30)

I'm only getting started. I've got some money set aside for a rear bumper, some suspension stuff, winch, and some other minor stuff.
