TURBevO8 semi-build thread

Well I always wanted a Jeep and when my '95 Pathfinder wouldnt pass inspection due to rust I figured it was time to get a new winter rig and if I got a Jeep it could be fun in the summer too. I think I got a good deal too. I bought an orange (impact orange?) 2006 X with a 6spd and 4.0L for $11k w/ CD player, a/c, clean Carfax, and 46k miles from a dealer. KBB was $14,510! I brought it home last night around 6:00 and was already out in the woods with it by 9:00 this morning...lol. Here are two pics I took with my phone. Anybody selling some used Rubicon Moab rims/tires within a reasonable driving distance to PA please PM me! Pics...

Hmmm...having trouble getting pics to post...but the links work at least...

Welcome to Jeep Forum. Good buy on the Jeep, now start the modifications, but first pay up and become a supporter so you can post pics no clicky

Thanks! They are Advan RGII in 18x9, +29 offset w/ 255/35R18 BFG KDW2 tires. They are in SBC (super black chrome) color and weigh in at 17.5lb!

How do I become a supporter? I'll have to look into that. The mods are coming too but not for a little while as I want to pay this down a bit. That and I want to get a larger turbo for my car in pursuit of 430whp. Originally I wanted to do a 4" SL with some black Soft 8s on some 33x12.5 TrXus tires right off the bat, but due to the fact I spent about $3k more on a Jeep than I wanted to, I think I might just snag some used Rubicon Moab wheels/stock tires and then snag a hardtop before next winter. Then run it like that till I pay it off and then go nuts with it!!!

That is a light wheel to be 18x9. How do you like the KDW2 tires? They came stock on my SRT-4. I only got about 25k miles out of them. They were decent tires, but they were really loud and seemed to get louder the more they wore.

Yeah they are loud that is true. I would be happy to get 25k miles out of them. I had two sets of stock Advan AO-46 tires on my stock rims and only got about 12k miles out of them till the steel belts were poking through. Then I ran some Falken RT-615s and got about 16k miles out of those. So far these BFGs are holding up a lot better but arent as sticky (duh). But overall I like them based on price, performance, etc. Pretty ridiculous I am on my 4th set of tires and only have 45k miles on that car. And w/ AWD you cant even blame it on burnouts or anything.

Now I need to get myself up to speed on Jeep stuff as much as I know about import tuning.

I really want some used Rubicon wheels!!! Someone has gotta have some within driving distance to PA.

So other than this forum, where would you guys suggest trying to track down these wheels and tires in or around PA? I tried the obvious Craigs List and Ebay but any local forums or anything that would be good to look at?

Yeah. I think I actually got a set lined up and am picking them up tomorrow night. Thanks though. If it was later in the year perhaps as I go down to Lenoir City, TN every 4th of July. Not sure how far from there you are anyway.

Anybody got a set of rock guards for 6" KC Highlights Daylighters? I have a set of lights I plan to install here next week and want some of those rock guards. If not, I'll get them from Quadratec.

A half a week and already some new shoes and some KCs!!! Man there are deals out there! $11k for the Jeep which books at $14,500, a full set of Moabs for $725 with tires, and some FREE KCs! I am loving this hobby already!!!
