Nope, everything has been paid by me, that's why it has taken a long time. I go to school full time and work 3-4 days a week, its hard to get a jeep day.

Wow....what a lot of work....you have done a great job and are definitely the most ambitious person under 30 I've seen in a long time.

But you have officially convinced me that I will not be doing a body-off resto anytime soon.

So, the questions I have are this....how much was it to buy the TJ back from the insurance co?

How much have you invested in it to get it back to driveability?

Is it street legal yet??? Seems so since it looks like you're driving it which is evident by the road salt.

If so, what trouble do you have to go through in Canada to make it legal again? Here in PA that would have been sold to you with a salvage certificate and you would have to send all kind of paper work to the commonwealth with pictures of the work to get a reconstructed title. Before you could even consider getting it inspected and re-insured.

Thanks.

I bought the TJ back for $2000, I have invested quite a bit, too scared to calculate. I'll get the numbers soon.

The road salt is from trailering the jeep behind my friends lifted ford.
I have to fill a form with what I did with the jeep to fix it, major parts I used to fix it, a picture of each side of the jeep showing the damage.
Then I go to the registry office and request an inspection, go to a certified inspection place, pay $300, and hopefully it passes. After I bring that paper to the registry and its done.

Here in NC you have to have it pre-inspected and final-inspected (both are free) by the DMV and have all paperwork from parts used, but only if the vehicle is less than 6 years old. I had to do it for my LJ when I rebuilt it back in '10, but I wouldn't have to do it now since it is past the 6 year rule.

No real update.
Changed the rear axle seals because they were pissing fluid, got my tires balanced and ordered Poison Spyder rocker knockers. Now i'm just waiting for them.

A few months down the road I'm going to start collecting parts for my "35" build. Stay tuned.

Nice job man, quite the project for sure. I feel you on the whole full time student/part time job thing. It makes what you can do to the Jeep that much more satisfying. On an unrelated note, what kind of camera were you using to document the build?

'03 Rubicon. Just getting started on the mods.

How's your winch rebuild coming? Mine's just about finished up. Waiting for my synthetic line to ship and then I can mount it up.

Thanks, it really does. For the majority of the pictures I used a Nikon DSLR (D3000 I think) and a few with Iphone 4.

Nice, I haven't done much in almost a year, but I'm going to start ordering parts soon.

I cancelled my order for the Rocker Knockers, they were backordered and decided to postpone rocker guards. Theres been a few problems here and there with the jeep, but nothing I couldn't fix. I'll be doing the front ball joints and passenger side axle seal in a few days. Going clean a few rust spots on the body and start planning the 35 build.

Also installed my Cobra 29 with an external speaker.

I'm glad I was able to get this one back.

Thought I'd go topless and doorless for the last time this year. Going to drop below 0 tonight, it will be a fun drive home.

Also ordered PSC Rocker Knockers.
