I got new bushings and the uppers in with the help of 90lsturbo. The coils would never unseat at full droop before but now they unseat 2-1/2" the spring pad on the fixed lowers stopped the down travel so after lunch the adjustable lowers go in I hope the offset eye will allow more droop w/o contacting the pad I hope to get another 1-2" of droop after swapping lowers in.
They should come on Saturday evening or Sunday morning next week. I ran into an issue today when installing the lowers I had to cut out the rear most lower arm bolts and they are 10.9 bolts so they are specialty ill need to pick some up at fastenal tomorrow. So I'm done until I get the bolts. Then I can get the arms on and throw on the iron rock offroad tierod when it comes in Tuesday or Wednesday , get her aligned the shakedown run on Saturday.
Well all the parts are in minus the header (hopefully a couple weeks for that ) here is how she sits now. She flexes better and rides like a caddy again. And no more death wobble. I did stretch the wheelbase 1 1/4"
Yesterday I took the Jeep out to test the new Suspension Components on a mild trail . The Jeep performed flawlessly as I hoped for I am impressed my the difference in ride quality Between the Stock Upper and Fixed Lowers to after With Adjustable Uppers and Lowers . I did stretch the wheelbase 1 1/2 " when I swapped the control arms . So my approach angle has improved a little. The Jeep flexes way better so it made climbing bigger rocks much easier. The only flaw I found is I pushed my steering into some rocks but if I had OTK I would have been fine. As always here are some pics !
The Rock the XJ is playing on in the first few pics is the same rock this shows you Short arms can flex !
I did a little wheeling today after I installed my new steering stabilizer last night, I am feeling pretty good since myself YJYnotTJ and another member on here all conquered a Obstacle that has been laughing at us for a good bit of time. The obstacle is a Granite Waterfall that has 3 ledges that are all 2 1/2- 3' tall and the last 2 are a bugger cause the XJ wheelbase your front and rear tires hit Ledge #2 & #3 at the same time ! It's taken me a year and half to make it all the way up and it feels great !
The last picture is a shot facing the obstacle from the bottom I took this pic about a year ago when I was denied
