Intake clearly needs to be below the water line....

I am from the east , since we had a lot of rain I was not sure how deep the water was so I used a method I learned at the pine barrens enter slow and follow the wave. That's water fording 101.

As for mud I try to avoid of because rocks are more fun less cleaning, and take more skill then slamming down the gas and working the wheel left to right.

Well after months of debating on a direction I am taking with the smurf, I have come to a conclusion that I will not be happy with a SUA setup. Thus the YJ will be going SOA. I plan on. Running a 35" tire with stock springs ( new of course ) and beefing the D30 up and going with a 8.8 rear and eventually going with a waggy 44

Sounds like an awesome plan!
Mind sharing the reasons you decided that SUA would leave you unhappy? I'm always curious as to what is the motivation behind the decisions.

Cheers

Flatter springs ride better flex better
I really wanted to be Soa on my last YJ but couldn't justify going soa after spending a buttload in alcans .
I do not want anything under the axle tubes
Soa will get me the height I want to be at.
And the Yj will turn into a hardcore trail rig and the XJ will be used as a DD and Light to medium duty trail rig when I get my wife another dd.
