tock172's Green XJ Build Thread
I've always wanted to start one of these, so here:
I got my Green XJ in October of 2008, and started driving/building it in November of 2008. Here she is when I first got saw her: ![]() My father took this picture of it sitting in his company yard. It was immediately met with the reply, "No." ... and here it is 3 days later sitting in front of my house hehe: ![]() Not, when I got it, my XJ had different sized tires, with varying amounts of bald tread left on them. They were also cracked. I promptly opted to throw on some cheap, but hard compound H/T 325's. I also bought some cheap Bajas and put them on the front bumper. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also replaced the trim that had fallen off the side with some new shiny stuff: ![]() I also passed 40k right around then: ![]() ![]() At this time I also discovered that I had the stupid mini center console that i hated. I replaced it: ![]() ![]() ![]() So, as the months went on, I eventually added some mag lights: ![]() ![]() ![]() So, now my XJ looked like this: ![]() ![]() To be continued in the next post, there is a lot more that I have not yet documented here so sit tight ![]()

Way to go on finally starting a build thread.
I'm liking the excellent condition of what you've got to work with there. Keep up the good work my friend.

Man, you started off with one clean looking Jeep.
Think I've said it before, but I gotta say I love the color Can you check the paint code and post it up?

Thanks guys much appreciated!
Anyways, the thread will updated in minute here, a lot has changed. Where can I find the paint code? And yes, I do plan to swap in the 4x4, as soon as I find a reasonably priced donor XJ around here. |

Alright now with the newest updates:
Since that last photo, I added a 48x60 steel roof rack, bedlined rockers/doors, and a light bar with 4 Baja's on it: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After this, I decided to focus on the interior and the engine/exhaust. I added a cobra CB radio and 4" firestik antenna: ![]() ![]() ![]() Onto the engine. I Did my own custom K&N cone filter intake, which netted a good increase in MPH, a bored out TB which undid that mpg gain, and a dynomax super turbo catback which replaced my stock exhaust which had a hole in it: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's an exhaust video: ![]() here are some of my stickers too: ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by tock172; 07-22-2009 at 11:05 PM.. |

But wait, there's more!
I have done more stuff since then. I have no since added 4 Jeep 4x4 lights on top of my roof rack, 2 IPF 868's on the back of my rack, and 2x Hella 500's on my light bar, not to mention some c4x4 two hooks as well for recovery, you'll see them in action soon: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's really about it since I got her, but of course I have plans: Swap in the 4x4 Add a hitch in the rear front/rear JCR bumpers remove some of the lights a 3" rusty's lift and some 31" BFG A/T's I am sure this thread will show it all in progress. Now for some trail pics! |

So my Jeep, even being 2wd for now has hit the trail a few times, and I have had a blast. My cheap jeep 4x4 lights even survived my spare tire flying off and hitting them directly!

How did you wire The top 4 lights?
Im trying to figure out how to use my relay, and what gauge wire to hook up 4 55w lights. Looks great.
