Updizzle.....I ran into a problem I should have known better...
I cut the back off the frame , not realizing that the frame would twist without a temporary crossmember in place in front of the cut. I did not realize it till it was time to align the body mounts to the frame.
Quick fix though. I brought my porta power home from work and pushed the rails apart to finish the body mounts. I will tack in a scrap to keep the frame in the proper location till I build the back half.
All the body mounts are tacked in location and the tub is bolted and sitting level. I need to clock the transfercase to the AW4 before I can finalize the transmission crossmember and cut the tub out to clear the t-case.
Any ideas on how to clock the tcase to the AW4?
I need to clean off those old Ballistic fab 3 link brackets to make way for my new 5 link brackets.

Dude, quit saying it and buy some. I had mine in 3 days. You could cut off the old ones and weld those on in a couple hours.
Also, I can't wait to get that tub out of the way so I can put the axles under the frame and build the suspension with nothing in the way. It's going to be so easy.

I would make a gasket that fits over the transfercase studs the transfer that to say a 3/8 or half inch thick plate, drill the holes in it and use that as a drill guide to drill a new set of holes, drill a center hole in the plate that fits the output shaft of the transfercase nice and snug to center the plate. Seems to me that would work pretty well. Drill all the holes on a decent drill press. Needs to be pretty accurate, or have a machine shop make you one

So how much body lift are you getting with those new mounts?
So, they are stronger, mounted higher and give you a body lift?

Those six mounts mount 1" higher, so you maintain a 1" body lift, but you use the stock pucks. The main purpose is to raise the mounts so you don't destroy them as easy on rocks

Yeah, they lift the main body up an inch also getting the body mounts away from things on the trail. The mounts are stamped out of 1/4 inch also. On a standard TJ you still need the body pucks for the rest of the tub. 1.25 lift pucks work great with the Genright body mounts , I will be using a Savvy body puck under the grill shell, and custom mounts in the rear of the frame on DD.
Going out to finish the welding on the mounts now. Then measure for the rear frame and leaf spring mounts.

With the skills you have I am surprised you arent going to chop up a TJ or Cj hardtop ? If you get one thats damaged they are cheap and its not a bad material to work with . With your attention to detail I think you would make something nicer than you could buy .

That was the original plan. But the idea faded quick. That may still happen if i find a hard top cheap. I have a "want add " posted in the classifieds.

I got a little more done this morning than expected. I did not get to pick up the jk30 today, guy backed out on the truck I was borrowing, and Enterprise did not have one available. Looks like May 5 th is when I can go pick it up.
Anyway, I finished welding in the genright body mounts, then cleaned up the other Fender. It was going so smooth I decided to trim the fronts of the Rokmen sliders to fit and get those ready to mount to the tub.
Passenger side needs some more trimming.
Driver side fits nicely.

That is a nice fit. Good call on going with the tubeless sliders.

Yea, I'm not a big fan of the tubes either. Love my tubeless Rokmens! When I called & ordered mine, Jeff said that out of every 100 they sell with tubes, they sell 1 without tubes.
Haven't lurked in a while. Coming along pretty nice man!

Thanks Fuzz, I decided to leave the sliders with tubes on the flop project. And put the new ones on DD. I am thinking about body color for the sliders. That way everything just flows.

Thanks, that's the something Jeff said when I ordered these. Now I just have to have some corner bent for the ends of the sliders to make them follow around the cab corner.
I picked up the stuff to make a cart for the bed and the rear axle. The plan is to have the cart support the bed with the axle resting underneath where it's going to ride. This way I can work on the frame, bed mounts, and axle position all at the same time.
The driver side fender is prepped and ready to go back to work for body work.

I got the same story from Jeff when I ordered mine, I guess we 3 are the only ones ordering sliders without tubes
