No need to beg , he accepts multiple forms of payment .

I'll see what I can do to earn some of it, then, and when the time is right we'll hack a pretty white Jeep apart and see what comes of it.

Third week update

Jeep drives great. Especially after fixing the steering sector shaft and centering the steering wheel. Needs a regear in a bad way , OD sucks with 4:10 and 37s.

Couple little issues that have been there since start up. The gauge cluster, the amp gauge and gas gauge park like normal when shut off but go straight to the half way mark and never move when the key is on. The gas light works, so I figure the cluster is the issue. Any thoughts?

Also, the exhaust rattles I will fix this tomorrow along with the XJ spring packs.

Gave the COs 1.5" preload today. It only raised the jeep about a half inch. So, once I make the bastard packs for the rear maybe she will sit level. Off to the junkyard to look for parts.

I will let you know. Thanks

New leaf springs have been acquired

2001 XJ rust free springs good bushings.

I have also been collecting AW4 harness parts. If you are looking to do the swap I have the plugs and TCM for 2 swaps.

So new 2001XJ leafs are in, desired ride quality improved, but ride height is less than desirable. Do I just start adding leafs to get height. Or us that a waste of time?

They will raise it for a little while but will sag in the long run and the ride will get stiffer...

Add a leaf on each side and see how it rides. More leafs=firmer ride. You should be able to find a sweet spot balancing desired ride height and a fairly comfortable ride.

Drop the front? It may not be worth messing with the rear much more.
