TJ Stroker swap, new paint, top, other goodies

EDIT: 7/17/2013...moving this to a new thread now that I am graduated...going to try and keep it organized:http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/g...d-ish-1548140/

most recent pics on 5/12/10

UPDATE: It's running Video on page 5

I'll try to get better video, with the timing correct on 5/19/10

This is my 97 TJ. I have always wanted a Jeep, last year I finally got my beautiful TJ. It's a 2.5 with auto trans, 3.73 gears. It has a/c, soundbar, leather steering wheel, full console. The guy I bought it from threw in the 31x10.50 goodyear at/s at the last minute for free. The suspension was all stock except for giant coils in the rear . I found the suspension out of an 05 Rubi for a good deal. Alot of other random bolts and parts that were missing. I have plans for a 4.6 Stroker and an Ax15 with an Np231 and a ford 8.8 or dana 44. I just had it painted it. I am going to wheel it when the new engine is in.I'll update with more later thanks for looking

You've made a lot of progress so far!

Don't wait for the new engine, wheel it now! it'll do fine!

Another cheap/easy mod you can do in about half an hour, is to paint your headlight bezels black..

Then you can have a stealth jeep. lol.

I'm glad the jeep got in the hands of someone smart, looks way better now that you've started fixing the stuff that the PO did to it. Nice work!!

Thanks for the compliments/suggestions. I forgot to mention that I have a ax15 and np231j that my dad and I got out of a 95 xj at a junkyard and had rebuilt. There is a 4.0 out of a 2000xj slightly apart in my garage that we will use as a core when going to the 4.6. I have wheeled it a little so far, but it's hard because I go to college three hours away from home and can't bring my Jeep with me yet(I really hope I can soon). I do come home on alot of weekends so that helps.

I don't think I can take it with me back to school yet, I have to go back tomorrow. . Hopefully I get to take it over soon and I'm only three hours away, so I can work on it on the weekends.

Love the black on black. I was going to suggest you fix what ever was being held on by a cord, but it seems you have done that and much more. Can't wait to see it get a little dirty.

The hood was tied down with cord, tied to the bumper which fell off when I leaned on it, I secured the bumper after that until I got a new one. It has been dirty a couple times(every chance I had) before I got it painted and it will see it's fair share of off road soon.
