It is worth the trip. I would try to make at least a weekend out of it. There is definitely more than can be seen in one day. There's always trails that I want to run again, that I haven't run in a couple years. Sometimes it's because of the group I'm in, or mechanical issues. Or we just don't get to it. The trails are constantly changing, and can do so pretty drastically from year to year.

So, I picked up another piece of the puzzle today. A set of PRP Comp high back seats. I'm very excited to get some comfy seats in this thing. Plus I plan to do some real harnesses so I can just wear the lap belt for most of my wheeling. The current shoulder belt starts to rub my neck raw when I'm bouncing around.

I wish! There has been no jeep work done since I bought them. My sisters car threw a timing belt, and I have been devoting a ton of time to getting it fixed, to no avail.

Unfortunately, the jeep has taken a back seat to this at the moment. Once I get her car fixed, the seats will be going in. Plus a cage of some sort more than likely.

Got a chance to go out wheeling yesterday at Rausch Creek. It started out as a great day. We ran trail 5, and did the big hill climb on it. That was a lot of fun, and I was surprised how easy I got up it, but it was very dry.

Then we decided to do Walk in the Park. This turned into a nightmare. My buddy got his jeep half wedged, and then had electrical issues and couldn't get it restarted. I went to pull him out, and something in the rear end went boom. We thought an axle shaft let go. Eventually, I was able to winch him out, with a ton of effort. We got him going again, and drove back to camp, with mine making some bad noises from the rear.

Started a quick field disassembly, and quickly found that I blew up the rear locker. I also twisted the splines on one axle shaft a bit.

All in all, it was an expensive day for 2 hours of wheeling.

Yes, it was the OEM locker.

It will more than likely be getting an ARB to replace it.

Out of curiosity was it locked when it failed? Maybe find a front rubi locker to put in the rear?

Yes, it was locked. That's what surprised me. I thought they always failed unlocked. I'm going to skip the new OEM locker I think. I know ARB is a lot stronger. Plus, I like to play hard.

Could also consider the Yukon zip locker. Strong locker similar to the Arb but cheaper

Well, I found a deal on an OEM front locker. Not exactly the route I wanted to go, but it is what funds are currently allowing. Found one for $300+ shipping. Considering I was looking at over $1000 for an ARB plus compressor, I think this was the best route to take for now. It should provide me with service for a while longer.
