Here's one of the four reasons I'm doing all this. The other three reasons are the other frame side lower control arm brackets. The bracket was literally folded around until it was touching the joint.

No turning back now. All the brackets are off the axle.

After my last update, I got the frame side control arm brackets cut off. Today, I relocated the frame side coil buckets so the springs will sit straight up and down. It should also drop the rear down half an inch or so, which I wanted to do anyway. Out of curiosity, is anyone following this at all now that I am actually updating as I go? I feel like I'm posting just for the sake of posting.

Truss burned on tonight. Its starting to come together now. Picking up the steel for links Saturday. Once I get that, it should be just a matter of time before I get it done.

The thing I'm trying to figure out now is where to put the axle vent. It would have been directly under the truss, so I welded the hole up. I'll have to drill and tap a new one.

Started putting in the frame brackets tonight as well. If my calculations are correct, I should end up around 23" for the lowers.

Bracket number two is on. Which means it is time to start making links. Glad I'm going for steel tomorrow.

Where are you going to reroute the brake and gas lines? Top of the frame rail?

Yes, they will be placed on top of the frame rail. I have a 1.25" body lift, so there is plenty of room.

On a side note, I'm not sure the Artec frame brackets would work without a body lift. I will measure later, but they are fairly close to the tub.

Burning in the lower control arm brackets today. Hoping to get all 4 links in today so I can cycle the suspension and check clearances.

Still to go:
Lower coil buckets
Swap calipers around to front of axle
Outboard rear shocks
Shorten up exhaust for upper link clearance

I recently mid arm 4 linked my TJ. Looks like your off to a good start.
Any reason you didn't cut off the track bar mount when you rotated the spring perch?

I thought about cutting the track bar mount off, but decided against it. I couldn't think of a good enough reason to cut it off. It made a perfect stop for rotating the spring perch. With my current plans, it should not be in the way of my outboard either. Plus, if I ever decide to take it back to a stock style suspension to sell, I won't have to put a new one on.

That said, I may cut it off yet. Not sure.
