Now we're getting down to business guys, ran down to my metal guy today, picked up the rocker guards he's been building me. Can't wait to get them on there!

Tube steps added on there, painting now

A couple more coats and then a clear and we will be set.

We also got the swing out almost done. It'll be finished Friday, then I have to figure out how to make it swing, and lock.

We are using the factory tire carrier mounted on the new swing out.

You may want to beef up the tire carrier.

We are making plates to weld the stock carrier to. It'll be plenty solid.

Could you tell me how you made the rocker guards?

It's just 4x4 angle steel with a 1 inch tube step. Cut to fit and 5 mount holes. The two steel pieces sitting on them are going to go on the inside of the tub as some sort of jeep tub sandwich and they will be sufficient enough to support a couple hundred pounds.

Carlos, Great build. I will be watching to see what else you do with it.

I am going to strongly suggest that you check out the MORE Shackle reversal, I have one on mine, it rides amazing, and you will never destroy a leaf spring like that again.

Here's a couple of pics.

Thanks Beast! I have been thinking about a shackle reversal actually but I think I'm gonna get some boomerang shackles for now. If it does happen again however, reversal it is.

Rocker guard install: these guards were a couple weeks in the making and are finally done. I started with just the angled steel and later decided I wanted to add the steps. We were discussing how to mount these when we decided to go with a 5 bolt two plate set up. The guard, and an inner plate to act as a large washer type piece. Simple yet very strong.

This led to a serious case of "what did I just do? I'm gonna throw up" type feeling.

By the way that is mud there in the door jam. Not rust
Here is the inside plate

And one side complete!

So I came up with a new idea on the passenger side. On the drivers side I used a pencil and while my brother held the rocker to the tub, I traced the holes. That didn't work. Needless to say the holes on that side look horrible. So he held up the rocker and I taped the top so I could paint the exact spot to drill.

And the finished product.
