Carlos,
I too am a NC homegrown, from Kernersville.
I'm 45 now, and just got back into Jeeps last year. Cut my teeth with a 1980 CJ-5. Still miss it too!
Sold my antique Mach 1 Mustang last year, and bought a '92 YJ with a portion of the proceeds. It was the best vehicle purchase I have made in years.
I enjoy reading about your experiences, and hope that you continue the thread while you study and grow in His service. Keep up the fine build up.
I found that by building my own bumpers, spare tire carrier, steps, etc., I could enjoy even more of my Jeep in so many ways. Consider doing that, if you have the facilities to do so.
I'll try to start a thread with pictures of my progress as well.
Happy Fourth of July, and remember to give thanks to the God who gave us the strength to fight for freedom in the first place.

Glad to hear from a fellow NC jeeper! I am currently working with a guy on the rocker guards and hopefully soon a tire carrier! I need the carrier ASAP so I can get to my Drop down tailgate. One thing after another!

God bless and enjoy your 4th Spirittrakker!

Btw.. sweet yj!

Hey man great build! I am doing a build for my dad while he is overseas! I also have the problem with the shifting like you said and I don’t know a solution. Can you let me know what you are planning on doing to correct it with some pictures please? Thank man. Great job!

I will snap some pics later if you need but I fixed mine by unbolting the shift boot. Under that is a plate that screws to the floor, if you try to shift you can see that the plate is what is stopping you. By cutting the back end of the plate you can screw it back down and have no problems! Worked great for me. Let me know if you still want pics.

I have a set of 33s that will be mounted to separate wheels, I will swap back and forth between trail rides.

Time is not on my side. I'm about to have to take a week off. Leaving in a couple hours for a missions trip in NM. There is still plenty to do when I get back though! And I like the bumper so far, good start.

Thanks that's my rear bumper. I drew that on auto cad. I already installed it today. Just need some ideas for a front bumper.

My only suggestion for you is to take it slow (like you've been doing) and don't get too far a head of yourself. Too many kids start something like this be it a car/truck/jeep, then enter college and end up selling it. Keep it simple. When you spend money, do so on the things that matter (gears, lockers, SYE CV shaft). The pretty stuff can some later.

As far as school goes, good choice on the subject.

God bless,
Bryan

Oh, by the way. Nice build so far. I'm getting back to working on my 91 Wagoneer. So I'm up to my elbows with you.
