Teen 84 Cj7 Semi-Build

Alright so I thought it would be a good idea to keep track of my build on here!mbira before I get Into the jeepness how about a little about myself...

My name is Ryan Martin, I live in Corona, CA. Born and raised in Long Beach. I'm just turned 18 this month. I also just graduated high school, I will be attending a community college, getting an AA or AS, and then transferring to a University to get a BA or BS.

I got my Jeep about a year and a half ago on January 31, 2013.

An 84 Cj7 4.2L 5speed manual tranny. It came with a 6" suspension lift and 33" tires. I chose a Cj7 because my dad had one straight out the dealer but unfortunately sold it.

First thing I decided to do was a little tune up, get a hardtop, and strip the carpet to add some roll on bedliner.

My dad forced me to change the suspension because it had a major wobble. It turned out that they had 2.5" YJ springs in the front and some custom shackles to make them work. I ordered 2.5" Rough Country Springs and Shackles. Kept the same shocks because they were still in good condition and long so if I wanted to upgrade I don't have to buy new shocks.

My dad relapsed and bought a Jeep for himself. An 85 Cj7. His goal was to restore it to completely original. He had some mastercraft Baja RS seats in his jeep. I traded my original seats with him and he also gave me a Tuffy center console that came with his.

I put in a GT Steering Wheel since the seats were higher and I needed some more room.

Did do much too it for about 8months because I wanted to save up all my money so I can do a lot at once. So March 2014 I finally saved up enough to do what I wanted. First I bought some KC Apollo lights and mounted them to the windshield.

I needed a place for switches so I decided to make a plate on my dash.

Labeled all the wires and what not to make sure everything went back to where it was originally.

Painted it with some spray bedliner to give it that rough look. And started welding a plate for the switches. But the steel was too thin so I decided to drill it.

I also fabbed up some roll cage to dash attachments for a future cage.

Next was my Metalcloak Frame Built Bumper
It didn't fit properly because the previous owner did some frame cutting but I did what I had to to make it work!!

Wanted LED Taillights so I got LiteDots, got them for practically half off!

Next was a Warn Winch, I got their cheapest one because I didn't have too much money to spend on a winch but I wanted their dependability and warranty. I picked up a VR8000.

I had a leak so I decided to replace the rear main seal.

The Mastercraft seats were too uncomfortable for a daily driver imho so I sold them and with that money I picked up some Corbeau Baja RS seats.

Ordered a synthetic winch line

Trade my hardtop with my dad since he wants to sell his Jeep now. It was already tinted and it can be lock and it stands on it's own.
