Had a few minutes of downtime today, so did a bit of putzing with the TJ...
RockHard4x4 Cage Completely Removed (going to sell and eventually replace)
Removed Windshield to drill out busted bolt from A-Pillar mount and clean up, glue top seal, etc
Started putzing with replacing Speaker Bar with Speaker Pods
Been on a bit of a personally imposed JeepForum Hiatus...no specific reason, just busy with work and kids and life. Don't have any exciting Jeep news really nor any wheeling since Johnson Valley (still recovering I guess ).
Not a lot of extra scratch right now for Jeep Projects, so nothing too exciting to report! Need to hit the lottery so I can ship the Jeep to Blaine and have him do it up right!
Below is the other view of that shot, but yes, around a rock with a snatch block connected to the winch of the rig behind me.
...Blaine or Gerald can correct me if I'm wrong, but I was kind of stuck in that hole, on my diffs and long arms all over the place. My driver side was leaning hard against the body in front of my door hinges, The strap on the side was supposed to keep the body off the rocks, while I winched forward to get unstuck off the rocks... well, during the flexing, my body moved enough to have the body seam at the firewall slice 2 of the 3 wires of my Crank Positioning Sensor, so it wouldn't start at all. It also chewed up the bottom 1/2 of my Fan Shroud in the process.
Luckily Blaine had a spare but it was a total PAIN in the BUTT to replace because of where we were in the rocks and because of the Long Arms and front Drive shaft, etc. Anyhow, long story short, we finally got it yanked back a bit, Blaine crawled under (cause I was too lame) and replaced the CPS without the tools we needed (a swivel socket) and after dropping the front drive shaft, it started up, we winched it up the hill and went along our way.
Took some damage to my door hinge and had to loosen the lower hinge at the body to get the door back on to get it home. I'm glad he told me to remove the doors or they would have been trashed as well.
Outerlimits is fun isn't it, I ran the whole darn thing without any powersteering, way to many 15 point turns and some very sore arms but had a ton of fun. Going to have to try it at night some time this summer.
First on the roster is a Clawhammer and Sledgehammer night run in a couple of weeks.
