Cool, I'll be there as well as the earlier whooha. Not sure if I'll bring the dually or the bike. Jeeps out of the picture for a little while yet.

Built the rear bumper Saturday. What I wanted to do was build a bumper that was still very thin and didn't stick way off the back and hurt departure angle, but I really wanted LED bars in the bumper. So we brainstormed and came up with this.

Rear crossmember support, cut for 2 TWF 6" LED bars.

The bars mount to these tabs

Like this

Added a receiver, and tacked up the outer part of the bumper

In the center of the mounting points of the bumper, where the clevis mounts are, we added some 2x3x .250 wall square tubing to add strength to the recovery points.

Mocked up after the first cuts on the outer portion for the lights. The clevis mounts are 1" thick, cut on a water jet and use 3/4" shackles

To get the lights to clear, we had to notch the rear crossmember.

The final product! It's spray painted for now, when we finish up the front bumper and rock sliders I'm going to pull everything off and powdercoat it wrinkle black to match the wheels.

The bad news is that my slave cylinder went out today, so I got to drive it home with no clutch which was alot of fun. I went ahead and ordered a LUK clutch kit and I'll get it put in next weekend.

Clutch is in, tranfercase shift knob broke off when I tried to take it off so I took the shifter to work and fixed it, and made a temporary knob until my billet knobs come in.

Also cut down my stock front bumper and boxed the ends

Hopefully going wheeling tomorrow

I'm jealous... I'd rather be out wheeling tomorrow too!

Just wondering what's up with the old Chevelle out in the field?

We have about 20 Jeeps going out to Citrus tomorrow. Gotta get yours done!

I'm building my cage at a friends shop, that's one of his many badass cars he has. Probably one of my favorite Chevelles I have ever seen...

Back when it had chrome

Not sure if I'm up for building another one at the moment due to how busy I am at work now, but let me talk to my buddy who cut and broke the plates for me and see what I can figure out. Would you want it with or without the LEDs?

With the lights, but if that adds a lot more work, I can live without them.

Thanks

Yeah, yeah I do... I get happy with a bit of progress, then look at the list of stuff still to do! Stop by sometime when you're up this way!

Got to do some wheeling today and the jeep did great. Unfortunately no one was really taking action pictures that I know of, so these will have to do
