Steve's Mild/Moderate TJ Rubicon build

Well, now that the JK is gone and a TJ Rubicon is in my driveway, I need to start a TJ build thread. I expect this build to be much milder than my JK build which can be found here: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/s...-build-959234/

My JK was a BEAST offroad and was unstoppable but became unpleasent to drive on the road despite having a million additional suspension componets to properly align it. It started to sit in garage unused. I am bound and determined to keep my TJ mild/moderate. This will take a while to build becasue of daycare expenses.

Wish list:

2 inch BDS coil lift
one inch body lift
33 inch skinny tires on Stock Moabs
winch on stock front bumper
rear bumper/tire carrier
Skid plates to protect front and rear diff, readiator, steering box and oil pan.

Not really a TJ update but I did add a new Jeep the family!!! 2005 LJ. This will be my DD while my Rubicon will be my build. I may add a budget boost to this but will stick with 31s or 32s most likely. This jeep has the H package which is the upgraded stereo, silver painted dash, chrome insert on grill, two tone cloth seats, and body colored extra wide fenders. It has brand new 31x10.5R15s on it. It will get tow hooks. Also came with a soft top which is going on it soon.

Lol. Not much to tell. Traded in truck so wife could get ford escape that she wanted. I inherited car and only lasted one month lol. Got it at team Chevy. Saw it on there website and checked it out. Ran good. Very little rust. High miles but well maintained. They bought out vw lease. I have always liked the Lj's. don't really need two new vehicles so decided to get another jeep over truck. Since I sold my trailer and don't intend to wheel as hardcore as I have in past could get another jeep. One for dd an one for weekend wheeler. Always in a jeep.

I really like the idea! What kind of plans are in store for the TJ?

2 or 3 inch coil lift. 33s. Winch on stock bumper. Skid plates. Tummy tuck possibly. That's pretty much it.

If like to do budget boost on lj and 32s.

Look at the Currie 3" progressive springs and OME shocks.

I cannot decide whether to go 2 inch coil and one inch body or 3 inch coil. 90 percent sure I want skinny 33s

I love my 33's and look forward to seeing them perform. You should look into them....my ideal setup with a TJ would be 3" springs metal cloak fenders and a flat belly on 35's
