A friend of mine has permission to ride on some private land. It is in Allegeny. We went out for a couple of hours yesterday morning.

quick question... i know you stated you wanted to re-gear and add lockers. Did you do that before wheeling the Jamboree trails?

I am strung between a 2.5" BB or a 3.5" lift with 35" Iroks. I am also going to spend the money later for re-gearing, lockers, and front axle, but plan on doing a few Jamborees and want to make sure with just a few mild mods I am good (without lockers & re-gear).

I also have the same wench that was on my TJ and it has been helpful. Great wench for the price.

by the way, you jeep looks AWESOME!

No, I still have not regeared or installed lockers. The jeep did fine. A couple of spots I would have benefited from a locker but I just winched myself where I got hung up. The cool thing about JKs is they have so much flex, a wheel is hardly ever off the ground so wheeling in the rocks isnt as hard as it sounds with a jk. I am debating putting off the regear and lockers for a year and upgrading my lift to a much better lift and doing some smaller upgrades. honestly, My jeep is quite capable even with crappy gears and open/open.

Thanks for the update. Dropping my Jeep off to get a 3.5" RE lift on 35" Iroks later this weekend. I plan on doing some jeeping when I get home from overseas. I will be watching your thread so keep us posted on your mods.

Nice build so far. In my neck of the woods there aren't too many built 2-door JK's running around the mall, let alone the trail, so it's refreshing to see somebody with a new rig that's not afraid to wheel it.

Nice JK. You ever go wheeling down in McKean County PA in the Allegheny National Forest? I grew up in Kane and there are some nice wheeling spots over that way. Like the build so far!

I wold def be interested in checking out some spots in McKean County. Dont know any legal areas there. If u want to go wheeling some time let me know. I am always up for checking out new stuff.

thanks for the vote. I think planman has this wrapped up but it is hard to compete with a jeep that runs 40 inch tires.
