hey guys figured i would go ahead and start my build thread, i have a 2004 wrangler Rubicon, black, auto. got it in early decemer. heres some pics of her before and with the few things i have done. Im def. using spyder6's rubi as my motivation, love the way shes turning out!
day i bought her out in the woods
Few miles down the trail with a buddy
Got a new bumper, and lights
Also kilby steering skid plate
Took her out with the doors off on a good day!
Riverwalk trails
Tonight im planning on painting my rims black.
My future plans are tube fenders, rock sliders, and rear corner armor, ordering on friday. oh and a winch.lol then im gunna plan the lift. and ALOT of other little things let me know what yall think!
Looks good, i like the front end! Cant wait to see my rims black now.
I was thinking on the lip of the rim there is the little divots, leaving them chrome!?
what yall think
I think it would look good but could be a spot where the paint would start to chip from. How are you painting them? Have you thought about powdercoating?
ya thats a good point, no were using some rim paint a buddy of mine with a body uses, his are holding up really well, if they dnt though il go get them powdercoated later on.
Well yester got all my new parts together and on!
PIAA lights mounted on a pillar(picked up for super cheap with the mounting brackets)
Hi jack mounted on custom homemade hood mount!
ARB Rear diff. cover.
Some grab bars(best 15 bucks i ever spent)
painted my headlight bezels black!
Still working on gettin my rims painted
pics up ina few!
IMO those rims are way to big for the jeep, I bet if you sold them in there current condition you could pull enough profit for some 15 inch steel wheels and some M/T's.
well no matter what you do those wheels will look way better black, and what a great platform to start on! Thinking about a lift?
On my dads 2000 SE I threw on the rough country 2.5 inch lift and a 1 inch daystar body lift. With those 2.2 shocks it rides awsome!. but I kept it low so I wouldnt be tempted to stress the D35.....GO BIG!
Ya i talked to a guy today at a tire shop and im going there tomo to see what he can do as far as a trade goes, and i have changed the whole plan for her, i wanna start with some full corner guards and rock sliders, tube fenders and flip out the bumper for a poisin spyder stinger. someone on here did a stinger and tube fenders and welded pipe from stinger to tube fender. i wanna go for something like that. and a lift, no long arm yet but something in the range of 4 or 5 inch.
Def glad i went ahead and bout the stock rubi instead of some modded X i was looking at, jeeps def go along with the drivers personality.lol so im gunna go BIG!!
Also quick quistion a freind of mine just put a 4.5 inch lift on his car and has a 2 inch pro comp lift, mx6 shocks. its off of a 2002 sahara will it fit mine, reason i ask it seems all the lifts online have different models lisyed for use. i dont see why not?
thanks
Well i went out today and did some wheeling after i cut my fenders, def like the look till i get my tube fenders. didnt get a whole lot of pics, a few poser pics! enjoy
Trimmed the rear flares tonight, awesome cheap mod!
Had a quistion, today at my job we had a guy bring a stock 2004 rubi in, and parked next to me, well it looked alottt lower then mine did so i pulled out the tape measure, my car sat 3 inches higher, also i noticed my springs are siler and had a good two inches on his, same with rear. the shocks on mine arent the oem ones, what do yall think it is a BB. it was like this when i bout it and really never noticed.
thanks alot
Heres some pics, haha today is my 19th bday and my mom made the most original cake! haha
jeeeps are pulling a truck outta the fudge!lol
let me know what yall think, im still working on gettin new rims and tires!
Just ordered 5 33x12.50 procomp mud terrains on 15 in black rock krawlers! be here wednesday!
the 33 wont fit on the spare spot will it? i have to put a new rear tire carrier on dont i?
