Great job with the video Steve. Thank you for doing that. I'm glad you got video of me backing off that obstacle. I was curious how bad it looked, cause it sure didn't feel good.

Spyder, Gerald took care of the shocks for me. I swapped out the rears and have no complaints about travel in the front. I agree those were entirely too short a shock, but it all worked out in the end.

Finally the wheeling photos. These are from the Virginia 4Wheel Drive Association's Annual Trail Ride in Oak Ridge, VA.

And here are some more pictures.

These really show off the benefits of the UA. I never even touched the skid on this one. Just the frame and control arm mounts.

I'll have to think about that. No plans yet that I know of.

Thanks Beasley. I'll have to check out your thread. I love the look of the long Jeeps.

And I guess it is time for an update here: I have been trying to track down what I think is a steering problem. Started this thread in the Tech forum. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/st...oblem-1334835/ I have been driving the Jeep and the problem isn't getting any worse.

I did a lot of work on the Jeep last week with a friend from my local club. I turned the wheel while he looked at the front end and we swapped spots and repeated. Neither of us see any play from any joints in the front end. This includes TREs, JJs, track bar attachments, etc. We also jacked up each side and he put a pry bar under the tire. There is no movement from either tire. We went for drive after that with him driving. We didn't get the clunk that I have been hearing and he thought my steering was actually pretty good.

After that we corrected my caster. It was 10 degrees when we started and right about 6 degrees now. Upper arms had some preload on them but we fixed that when putting everything back together. We then disconnected everything except the lower control arms in the rear. There was also some preload on the upper arms back there and the pinion angle was off by about 3 degrees. Got that corrected and put a bend in my rear trackbar to get it to clear the gas tank skid bolt. I feel a lot less vibration while driving now. The messed up pinion angles at both ends was certainly causing some vibes.

I still hear the clunk in the front end every now and then. The wobble is staying pretty steady and can felt above 35 mph. For now I am going to keep driving it. I am attending the Wheelin 4 Hope in a week and half and hope that I don't have any problems there. I guess if it doesn't get worse, it may be in my head. If it does get worse, we will probably have a better chance of tracking down the problem. If a tire falls off, I will definitely know the problem.
