Man that is thick mdf. I'll do this eventually, but just order my RE lift today, so I'll probably wait until I get that done before I do the sub.
Your build thread is the reason I got the RE 4.5/3.5 lift from Redrock. Jason gave me so much help with what I needed that I felt like they were the ones to order from, just as you stated. I'm going with the 3.5 springs and 285 BFG ATs. I had 33 ATs on my last TJ and 245 ATs on the current one, but figured I'd get MTs now. But in reality I'll DD this mostly with beach use and occassional trails, so they will fine. The KM2s are way too expensive now and the ATs just work. Just read your old posts on the other Rubi build thread and the input on the MTs helps. I've ordered the TW CV DS with monotubes. Having second thoughts on getting the 3.5s instead of 4.5 springs, but don't want to re gear. I think the 285s will be ok. Just have to come to terms with the bumper and spare now. Probably going with Bersks/grounderpounder since he is local and does nice work. Oh, the tint looks great. I've got what looks like 50% gray on my fronts now. Got a gray hard top in need of repair that will be fixed on on this winter. Thanks for the help and I may need to do my own build thread in a couple weeks when the boxes start to arrive.

glad ive been able to help. Jason is the man!!
just because you're sticking with 285's doesnt mean you cant get 4.5" springs. Nezzr on here has the 4.5" springs and 33" tires. your choice though. having the 3.5" springs definitely leaves you open to a 1.25" BL and various other things that come with it. if you've got any questions on the 4.5 or anything else, feel free to ask. |

Thanks for the help. I'm stoked. I've got kids that need to get in and out with their stuff, so going to stick with the 3.5s. Now I just need to work on the tires. Going to try to skip the wheel spacers for now.

before i started the thread i had thought i didn't have enough pictures of everything else i did to document. then i was concerned that my thread would die while i waited to get some more cash to continue upgrading/building various things. seems like the sub box is definitely a lo-buck crowd pleaser though. i only spent $25 bucks in materials so far hahadefinitely! and if I'm ever mindlessly traveling through the north west i'll be sure to stop in Wyoming. |

i went up to Lowes this eavning to get some hardware and some GreatStuff for my box and i saw a silver TJ completely stock and decided i would park next to him. here is the picture if anyone is interested to see how mine sits next to a stocker Sport. He/she wasnt there when i came back, i wonder what his/her reaction was to see another jeep parked next theirs. i always get that twinge that somebody actually cares enough to park with their own kind
sorry for the poor quality, i took it with my phone ![]() |

Nice comparison shot. Might be perfect for one of those picture requests for a lifted vs stock jeep.

I always park next to other wranglers that I see too. I think that some people that own stockers (me for now) just don't get the whole mod and wheeling thing.
I checked out a lifted LJ at my gym today. Had a huge body lift (3" I think), suspension lift and one of those red TC drops. Tires were 17 or 18 inch DCs. Other one I saw today at my office. Green JK X 2 door with 315 BFG MTs, small spring lift and green "truck nuts" hanging from the hitch, along with some chrome ad-ons. A woman owns it, believe it or not. Does not look to have ever been wheeled. I may just be in an area with a lot of mall crawlers. You got me thinking about the 4.5 springs and 315s now. If I'm going to spend the money... Parked next to a nice lifted YJ tonight at my son's baseball team indoor facility. Was much taller than mine, for now. Was in great shape. Told the son they had a sweet jeep.
