Ok after a few measures...I figured out besides being 8" longer in the wheelbase...all the x-members and suspension from my 72' 240z(datsun) should eith a few well placed holes bolt right in motor n all...only thing I have to come up with us clutch pedal to hook up to slave cyl since z is a 5 speed and jeep is auto....any thoughts????

Well drug out the welder for first time in... oh say 5 months finally got fuse block mounting plate in on the 71' ....then did a bunch of welding on backing plates of the 77' after years of service the shoes had worn the places where they touched backing plate causing a groove which made brakes crunchy and sticky feeling...also found that none of the 77' year models seemed to have the same brakes as mine...so finding the rubber brake lines has been a chore...then top that off with the fleet service mentality of if it's on the shelf I can make it work...uuugh...so much easier to start from scratch....lol

Spent the day cutting all the brackets and mounts off the front Cherokee axle today...that was no fun...trading an old motorcycle I got laying around for some tires wheels and some Cherokee rear leafs...only real snag I've come across is have to move front spring mounts 2" to outside of frame on each side...hardest part about that is removing the original mounts as they are hot riveted as well as welded...it may seem silly putting 4wd axles in now but I will eventually have a 4.0 HO and the rest of 4wd...had a 40k drivetrain from a 93 I had sitting on pallets with no intake...my daughter and her friend uncovered it looking for small critters and it filled up with water...only I didn't know this for about a month....doh....oh well easy come easy go...

Thanks man...it's been a long hard road.....

And just to rule out any chance of confusion..since I know I generally skip to last page first....the two jeeps pictured above are not the same....the big one is the original blue 71 I bought 2 yrs ago...the little brown one is a 77 and I just got it.....however on a different note altogether I was doing some math.....as it would seem(labor not included) I have just under $3000.00 invested/spent in the big one....I really was surprised at this...I though it was closer to like $5000 or better...now I do still have to buy gears for rear and chromos for front...but other than about another $150 in steel I'm done......till I break it HeeHee....but that's the fun part

So went to the RCV super axle sight to just see how much a set of shafts for my 44 would cost.....after picking myself up off the floor and using half a bottle of clear eyes to stop the burning...I looked at the price again thinking surely I read that wrong...nope it still said what I thought.....$1400.00 a pair....heck I could build one of those hybrid 60/14 bolt steer axles for that...lol
