Thanks and yes I plan on keeping the ag tires....I will eventually have a set of "normal" tires....but being as I also have an xj with 21.5" of total combined lift..with worn slap out 40"s on it....that's getting 2.5 tons and 56" ag tires...I go to Memphis next week to pick those up...and am begging momma to let me have a klune v for this jeep...tires have to wait...I'd only need tires if I go to rocks...like where you live...boone's a cool town...had a buddy who lived between Marion and old fort...he went to school up there...his name was william "Jeff" Kurtz..you might have heard about him on the news around Xmas...any way thanks a bunch

Ok so like after much brainstorming I decided on sheet metal for skins on the doors...with only a snap on window insert...I did this for two reasons...1). I figured the metal would hold up better to the brush and branches....2). Cost......this is after all a truck that will be put thru hell once its done..I'll post some pics here in a minute if I can get POS puter working...lol

The fella wanted $200 a door to canvas...but only wants 50$ for both snap in inserts and it was only $25 per door to skin em with metal...there is only $20 worth of steel per frame so when I lay my golden egg ill get a set canvassed...lol

So like my one ton has been going..pssht pssht pssht..down the road due to a bad exhaust manifold gasket...so knowing the outcome of messing with 40year old exhaust bolts I proceeded any way...now the passenger side head of my 390 sits on the fab trailer awaiting its time on the drill press.....bad thing is no beer store within walking distance...lol

You said the canvas doors were weaker anyways? I really like the ones you fabbed up. Great job.

Well I took some time to work on the daily...my '72 ford f350 which I bought for a song...so it was stop leak time...exhaust leak, oil leak, power steering leak, vacuum leak....you get the idea...so the exhaust leak turned into a head job, which of course I expected that and since I was already replacing intake gasket wasn't that much extra work...just threw it on the trusty ol' drill press and Walla good as new(sorta)...lol....also gave it a little bling...a nice new gm style hei dist., some accel cut to fit 8mm wire's, new plugs, a set of high quality chrome valve covers( I know I know..but my factory ones were toast), new clutch release shaft bushings, and some new door rubber.....and a single flowmaster..I do have to drive the thing after all and I like listening to my music as well as exhaust so didn't want it too loud...but any way...I go up to Memphis on Friday to pick up 2.5tons and a set of 56" tractor tires for the xj...I'm stoked...well that's about it for now...
