Sorry to hear about the delivery issue! Hopefully, the shipping company will help get you another set. Besides that, the build looks great so far!

Jtrux, thanks, I used the cage tie in kit from synergy.

Thanks Stubbs. UPS was no help!!! I called them about an hour a 2 minutes after it was delivered and tried to check with the driver, hoping that he didn't deliver it or maybe left it at wrong house. They told me that they couldn't contact the driver, I'm sure it's a safety thing, but at least freaking let him know!!! Savvy is away till next week, so, nothing is going to happen quick!!! After the original post, I realized I had two packages delivered and stolen! The second was only hitch pins… only $10, but I am freakin pissed about the lights!!!!!

Hey Bill you're gettin pretty serious with the TJ now! That axle ought to be a great inprovement.

I sure hate it when I come back to the shop and have a package sitting at my door. Never had anything stolen but it could happen anytime. You won't get anywhere with UPS. When it comes to things like this they have as bad a customer service as anyone you'll ever deal with. Besides it's not your place to take care of it, it's the shipper. They likely won't get a refund even if they insured it. For this reason I stopped using them, even the drivers can't get anywhere if something of theirs is lost! Flat rate with the post office is best but even they leave stuff at the door but they have a more hassle free refund service.

Oh and you'd better report this to law-enforcement! You're a victim with rights. Sorry Bill but I just can't help myself.

I reported it to everyone who listened!!! Got me a police report, emailed Savvy, they are out of office til the 24th... So. Yeah, with the ability to track a package all the way to my door, you'd think they would have the ability to have great customer service! So aggravating!!!

When I saw your post, Jim, I was thinking about your pm about the brackets, but I already ordered the Artec truss system. I even emailed them and asked them to ship with signature required!!!

You can challenge the charge back to your CC. Unless you sign for it, its a gimme for the CC companies. I didnt know that but had MC explain it to me one day. It'll fall back on the vendor or the CC Comp will eat the charge.

Good info Frop! I got an email from Savvy, they said that UPS is on it… but not sure what that will mean for me…

So, today was going to be the simple task of removing the brakes and brackets from the rear… After pounding off the brakes, stuck on the e-brakes, I broke off the bolt holding the cross pin in the carrier… YAY……… and the project comes to a screeching halt. I'm half tempted to cut it out and just go with a trutrac… but I was excited to see how the traclok worked. I have seen removal kits for like $30, but I've read mixed reviews about them working… sooooooooo...

Well, I got through it…

I went to the store and got a long drill bit and an easy out. An hour of drilling and easy outing and I got it to turn one revolution, then it wouldn't budge!!! I gave up on the L/S idea and decided to go with a full case locker…

A little bit of grinding, and viola… ok, it still took me a while to get it out! But I won!!!!

On a break from the rear, so I thought I'd try to make a mount for the high lift… pretty simple, big bolts, some scrap from the notcher and a couple plates cut from my 2x4x.188 square tube…

Now just got to weld the notched pieces to the base plate, paint and coat with some rubber.

Hi-Lift done, for all intents and purposes… I may go back and cut the heads off the bolts and weld them in, but not for a while. I used a locking hitch pin to secure it. I was gonna us it on one of the ends, but it didn't provided enough clamping force to keep it from rattling.

Now, debating the locker question… ARB, OX, Truetrac… uggghhh

Nice. That looks really good.

I have an OX in the rear of my TJ and it is great. Super solid.

Thanks Third. I really want to go Ox… Had an ARB and loved it, like the design of the OX, but love the simplicity and price of the truetrac!!! I just figure, I'm going all out on the 8.8, why waste my time on the truetrac!

Is the trutrac automatic? I'm not familiar. I haven't ran the ARB, but everyone I know seems happy with it. I have the stock Rubi air locker in the front of mine and the simplicity of that is easier than the cable lever for the OX. But that isn't a big factor in reality. I vote OX!

The truetrac is a limited slip. It has worm gears instead of clutches. The case turns the gears, the gears turn the axles. Eaton has a cool video about it. I am really leaning towards the Ox, but I could set up my front and rear with Truetracs and have money left over for a Millermatic 180 for the cost of front and rear Oxen!
