So, the brake light went on last weekend, and didn't have a lot of time to give it. Tried bleeding brakes a couple times, didn't work. Then again this weekend, I tried, didn't work… the pedal seems solid, but the light stays on… AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!! So tomorrow I'm going to replace the pads and rotors to see if that will help.

After a couple weeks of busy weekends, I got to messing with the Jeep. I put some braided lines on the front and bleed the brakes a couple more times but the light was still on. I admitted defeat and took it to a shop… $250 and a new prop valve and it is better than new!!! The brakes feel great!!! Here are the front lines…

In an attempt to quiet the exhaust down I changed the turn down to a 90 degree elbow. I aimed it down and to the side... Aparrantly hot gases can melt poly pretty easily...

I spent some time shortening everything so it aims at nothing, but I think a trip to the exhaust shop will be coming soon...

All this after commenting on a thread asking about short exhausts... I don't mind it, the fam doesn't like it... Oh well...

No TJ news, but had to replace the waterpump on the JKUR...

A lot easier than I thought... Took about 30 minutes.

Today's jeepin consisted of replacing the tank skid and trying to find the culprit of my P0456 code... I tried replacing the fuel cap but that didn't work... I checked the tank, it held pressure, so I has to be a hose somewhere...

Anyway, the new and old...

Only took an hour, would have been less if my tank wasn't full... Now off to see if I can get the code diagnosed...

JK crap...

Have had the imphamous ticking for some time now but never really cared to do anything about it due to all the stories I read about expensive replacement cost. I recently started to hear a new ticking coming from what I thought sounded like valve train. Took it to the dealer. They replaced the manifold under warranty (99k+ miles!!!) no questions asked. I got it home and it stilled ticked. I took it back and they thought it may be valve train which they said would be under warranty. My wife called about it today, they said they tore into it and had to keep going, thought it may be a rod baring... And they are working with Chrysler to replace the engine under warranty!!! Two things of note, I am so glad we got the jeep while Chrysler offered the unlimited mile power train warranty and we purchased the oil change package, so they have all the oil changes on file and they didn't even question our maintenance!!!

Now I just gotta fix the P0456 code on my TJ... Aaarrrggghhh!!!!

Eric's red jeep has the same error code, throttle positioning sensor is being triggered. Could be that or the clock ring in the steering column. We have yet to get a chance to repair it...

P0456 is evap system small leak... Everyone says most likely fuel cap, i bought a new one a little while ago, but that didn't fix it. I checked the hoses from front to back briefly, they look dry and could be worn through. Im gonna run through the hoses and see if I got any leaks in them.

Oh, when you guys are ready, I want to move my axle back an inch and weld in new frame coil mounts!

It latches using the stock CJ latches... Still looking for a better solution, it's kind of a pain to open and close right now, I got to reach through the top!

So, I did something today I've been wanting to do for a while. I never really like my front bumper...

So I modified it a bit...

Not sure if I like it still, but I've always liked stubby bumpers, so I think I like it more now...

So I go out to rotate my tires today, find one really jacked up… every other row of tread is about a quarter of an inch shorter than the next (explains some vibes I've been getting), so I go to rotate my spare in (I got it the summer after I got the other 4) and I find out it has different backspacing by like a half an inch… uuuggghhh!!!!!! I got it from the same guy who sold me the 4, he even came out and looked at my jeep!!!

Learned two important things today. 1) Don't buy cheap tires!!! 2) Buy all 5 at the same time!!!

Looks like I'll be getting tires and wheels soon!!!
