So, today was a big day... New tires!!! After a couple months debating 35 vs. 37, Wild peak vs. MTR-K vs. KM2, I decided on these..

35" MTR-K... For the price I paid, I can add a tummy tuck and mml for about $1000 less than switching to 37's and 17" wheels! And by the looks of it, 37's would have required some trimming and/or flat fenders... I think I made the right decision. Can't wait to try them out Friday!!!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

Trip to hollister today…

While I was looking at this:

This came shooting out at me:

Who needs 4 wheel drive!!!

This seemed a lot steeper in the drivers seat!!!

And yes, even in California, we were able to find some mud:

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

Aaaaand, my full size spare... A day late, but better late than never!!!

[IMG][/IMG]

Had to modify my jack mount a bit, but it all works now... The tire rests on the bumper now, I thought I measured two inches between the tire and the bumper with the 33, oh well I guess not, another reason I'm glad I didn't go to 37's!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

And yes, the TJ has been great!!! Dailey driver, well kind of... I have a take home car now, but I love it!!! I'm sure I would have loved the 5 as much, but with the TJ, I know it's always gonna start...

To aid in articulation...

Had to modify my current links a bit by shaving their width a little, but they work now.

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

A little frustrated with the tires right now... have a vibe at 40+ mph. Had the front end alligned, and went back to have them rebalanced. The tire guy said they were a little off so he fixed them and moved the weights from the rim to the center of the wheel to help out... STILL HAVE VIBES!!! argh!!!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

You have wobbles, not vibes.

What have you done to verify that the problem is stemming solely from the tires?

And for the future, if you want to wheel with the sway bar links connected you may want to look into a Currie AR.

Well, wobble...

I had it alligned. The guy at the shop pointed out that most of the TRE's looked good, but that my track bar mount at the frame had some play. I fixed it with a differant rod end and bigger bolt-steering is a little tighter now too.

Last night I checked the tire pressure and saw that it was down to 25 pounds from the last time we went wheeling. I raised it to 30 and most of the wobble has gone away. I think I am starting to feel better about these tires.

As for the AR, I am going to check out the quick releases, I had an AR on my last Jeep and honestly for the price, I am not impressed... especially for as much as I use it on the streets.

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

Well, today is probably going to be the last time we will get the boat out because of school and football/soccer, so I didn't expect to get anything done on the jeep... Well the wife wanted to get her nails done this morning so that meant I had some time to work on the jeep...

Before:

After:

This is the ultimate result:

Gonna need to adjust the control arms, but will wait till I get the motor mount lift... A short drive confirmed--vibes, not bad but vibes none the less.

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

Those 35's look perfect with that ride height.

Do you think you will need to get a longer driveshaft now after the tummy tuck?
