Nah! Did you mean to say flares?? TJ Flares all around I just trimmed the front fenders flat then cut the flares to match. For some reason my front fenders are fiberglass I assume former PO wrecked the front end since the grill is red behind the black paint and the tub is slightly buckled right infront of the doors. drives straight and true down the road and doors shut so I dont care.

Yea can't wait to take the top off an see how it looks with them. This will give my wife that feeling of
"not falling out". My dad also was able to get a free TJ sunrider soft top, but with no hardware. I guess I will see if I can fab up some hardware to make it work with my hybrid YJ/TJ cage.

Yeah my wife is't real fond of the doorless ride lol the only time I put my half doors on in the summer is if one of my kids are sitting shot gun!

haha, yeah I meant the front flares. Looks really good the way they sit. I'm looking to do something with mine, either tube or some kind of add-on flares to stock trimmed fenders...

Here is a video of me doing Mickeys Hot Tub. We ran the safety strap as a precation. I have never wheeled this kind of terrain and hadnt ever got my jeep that vertical before. I was really surprised that my carb ran at that steep of an angle. In the video you can here it die going down in but I was able to restart it. The guy talking me through it is an awesome wheeler who was willing to help anyone out and let me tag along with them they were in a group of four rigs all fully built linked on tons and v8's. these guys were a purely awesome group of friends and a blast to be around and treated us like one of there own. best group of wheelers I have ever met. I know I've asked you questions on my build thread but now I have a couple more...

How do those wagoneer springs ride up front? Do you have 4 sets of 7 pack fronts that have an extra XJ main on them?

How were you able to bend that XJ main backwards to get the military wrap effect? (I've seen where StreetBikeDepot who lives not far from me did this but I didn't see how)

I'm considering a Detroit (or the Yukon Grizzly equivalent) in my 8.8. How does it deal with turns on concrete? Will it mess with my wife in the Target parking lot?

Not a question...I strongly recommend a Spartan up front in your D30. It breaks in well and isn't noticeable on pavement anymore. It is pretty perfect on trails too. Glad I'm subscribed...

I just run a stock set of 7 leaf waggy pack upfront with a XJ main leaf under the waggy main. I didn't have to bend the XJ leaf I just cut the spring eye in half on the shackle end. The frame side of the mount is to long to be able wrap so you have to cut it off flush with the spring eye. I hope I was descriptive enough? If not I can take a pic of my spring pack. Another way around this would be to get a second waggy main leaf and cut the spring eye's in half to be able to wrap the main leaf. The reason for the wrap is the waggy main leaf has a reputation of bending easy. I just had a spare XJ pack so I used it. This is what I plan to do to the rear pack as soon as the weather warms up and I can go to the salvage yard and get another set.

The Detroit does take a bit of getting use to. It pops and pings sometimes especially taking off from a start right after it had locked up. It jumps and sounds like you just hit something. I haven't really noticed it when turning on dry pavement, just when you start off.

I do plan to do some sort of a locker up front maybe Spartan or Aussie?? But not until I get my HP 30 or the waggy 44 up front again. I do good with the front open now so I can live with it for a while.

Before our trip to moab I wanted to add onto the stock cage. If you can call the stock bars a "cage"?

forumrunner_20130208_174942.jpg
I like the look without the cage
forumrunner_20130208_174705.jpg

I had found a free TJ cage on craigslist with seatbelts. I originally planned on installing it but found out quickly it was easier to just add to the stock sport cage, so I carefully cut the family portion of the cage off and welded it to the stock sport cage.

Pulled it all out and fully welded it all together. Added a piece of 1 7/8 DOM over the rear passengers.

Ready for paint. I plan to add to it some more with gussets and grab handles and tie it into the frame.
