So I busted out the notebook and calc tonight to start tallying up my expenses so far on this motor swap I've done really good. I've only spent $430.
motor with harness............................$150
bellhousing ........................................$100
exhaust manifolds ...............................$50
Ram truck pcm.......$$free with manifolds
flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate..$130
Now I've sold some jeep related parts I had lying around that I got from bartering, for a grand total of $350 so subtract that from my $430 these parts have only cost me $80.
I also have a running total of parts I think I need and parts that I "will still need" totaling about $400 so if I can keep within my budget I can be well within range of keeping this motor swap really, really cheap. Now if I can figure out what is wrong with my 4.2 I may be even able to sell it for a profit and even lower my cost considerably, may even make money off of putting a V8 in my jeep lol!! Now I know Im dreaming!! anyways for anybody that cares about my rambling I thought I would at least jot down my thoughts and see what happens in the next few months. I will have my brother-in-law up here over Christmas break (school teacher) we may just yank out the 4.2 and get this baby mocked up.

I have never totaled it up before either, but my wife was giving me crap about how much I spend on my jeep and I thought I would prove to her that I'm "thrifty" lol didnt work!

Cant wait for it to breathe fire either just hope it doesn't burn my shop down. Ive been driving the crap out of my jeep this hunting season and she keeps on going doesnt burn oil and no smoke just sounds like a diesel going down the road. Only two more weekends and hunting is over and I can start getting everything ready for the tear down.

Ok so I got bored on my lunch break and picked up a bottle of electronic cleaner. And took apart the dodge pcm I got at the junk yard.
First off I removed the front cover with #15 torx tip.

Man it was filthy

Took some electronic cleaner to it with a mild tooth brush and cleaned her all up.
It cleaned up pretty good.

Now I dont know anything about this and if it will even work or not but my purpose of doing this was to see if there is any visible damage to it. Looks ok to me

I am slightly concerned about the cracking of the gel that surrounds the electrical, I dont know if its common or if it is a sign of damage to the board. I will research some more and somehow get this thing tested to see if it works.
Doesn't appear to be any damage to the back side either??

Fuel injection is half of it for me. You're gonna love not screwing with a carb. The extra power doesn't hurt either
